Dark Forest

After defeating the dark elves, Jane, Mindy and Farsel had spent nine days travelling to the next town.

It had been a difficult nine days. Unfortunately Mindy was fast enough to catch animals with her bare claws so they could all eat. During the hunts, Mindy opted to go naked, finding her clothes too constricting.

When she caught the animal, Jane tried to get Farsel to cook it with a fireball. Unfortunately, the fireball spell is designed for killing enemies, not cooking meat. It ended up really well done.

"I told you, I've never used my fire ball for this" said Farsel.

Farsel kept complaining that her bare feet hurt on the rough ground.

"Can't I have at least my shoes back?" she asked, "Mindy's feet don't seem to take any damage anyway"

Farsel also kept trying to escape but after nine days, the group found a carriage blocked by a fallen tree.

"We should check it out" said Jane, "they might need our help"

The group stopped to see some men, pulling the tree off the road.

"There any trouble?" Jane asked.

"What do you think?" asked one of the men, "a tree is blocking the road and we gotta get back to our castle"

Jane looked at the carriage. It was fancy, probably royals.

"There's something wrong with the tree" said one of the men trying to pull it off the road.

"What do you mean?" said another guard.

Suddenly the tree slid back onto the road.

"What are you playing at?" asked the guard.

"We're sorry" said one of the men, "the tree should slid back by itself"

"I think whatever put the tree there wants us to go into the forest" said Jane.

"Can't we just go over the tree?" asked Mindy.

The instant Mindy tried to climb over the tree, it expanded its size, making the log too high up for Mindy to climb.

"It looks like the tree really wants us to go into the dark scary forest" said Jane.

"Why should we take orders from you?" asked the guard.

"Because I have a dragon that just slaughtered a whole bunch of dark elves nine days ago"

Suddenly a blonde girl with long hair got out the carriage.

"Dark elves are what we've been fleeing from" she said.

"Who are you?" asked Jane.

"That is Princess Alice. How do you not know of her?" said a guard.

Alice then saw Mindy. For a moment Jane thought she was gonna be scared like Sara was when they first met. Instead Alice squealed in delight and hugged Mindy, playing with her hair.

"She's so adorable" she said.

With no better options, the group all decided to go into the dark forest. Jane was surprised by how dark it was. It should still have been daytime. Soon, the group noticed that guards were disappearing one by one.

"I could have swore there were more of you" said Jane.

"Oh no, guards are disappearing" said Alice.

"I figured that would happen" said Jane.
