Clocking in

Zoey sighed, as she began to carefully make her way towards the curtain. “Alright, alright...” She answered Megan, as she passed through the doorway. Megan smiled to herself, managing to say a quick “Thank you!”, before turning around and heading into the corner shower.

As she stepped out into the hall, Zoey couldn’t help feeling at least a little self-concious. She was walking around her office in her underwear after all. It was some degree of comfort to glance at the list of shifts written on the whiteboard near the door, and notice that Megan would be the only one in for the current shift change.

The tablet all employees used to clock in for their shift was sitting in its usual position within the office space, right near her boss Henry’s desk. She cautiously paced towards the room, making sure there wasn’t anyone already inside. It took only a few moments before she began tapping away at the screen, using her override to clock Megan out of her shift. After finishing, Zoey was just about to leave the room, and go finish changing, when she heard her boss’s desk phone ring. Zoey jumped in surprise, and stared wide-eyed at the phone. Then, there was a moment of pause, as she thought about who could be calling, since in all her two years of working there had never been a phone call to the desk while she was in the office.
