Chapter 221 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

"Hey Felix, who do you think knows more? The mother or the son?"

Felix glanced over at Spi'Reto who seemed entertained annoying Nyitzcha still in her crate. The dwarf was not amused, which in its own way seemed to amuse the young elf.

"Definitely the Mother." He whispered back, "How do you plan on getting to her?"

"Why are we whispering?"

"WAH!" Janette and Felix spun around before falling back, discovering a certain Nukka sat on her belly with her behind raised as if she were ready to pounce. An odd state, until Felix recognized that this Grizzly was actually laying down with her arms crossed and her chin resting on top. Her size was truly a spectacle and a threat to behold.

Nukka lifted herself up, wiggling her tiny circular bear ears atop her head with a short grin. "You two are funny, what are we going hush-hush about?"

It took a brief moment for Janette to recover from her heart attack, clutching her boob hard before acknowledging the abrupt laughter stemming from the short dwarf in the crate.

"You cut that out!" She barked at her. Nyitzcha fell back, her tiny feet in the air as her uncontained laughter rose in volume. It left Janette turning red, noticing the other Nekomata's staring and giggling as well. Even Felix leaned up on his elbows and began to admit the absurdity of what just occurred, giggling with the other girls.

Normally Janette would feel steam errupting from her ears, that was until she noticed her book had fallen open on a patch of mud in the grass. A sudden sting hit her heart as she began to think the worse, pray to the gods that the book hadn't suffered any damages to its mystical effect. Someone walked patiently over and reached for the fallen literature to retrieve it.

Janette's eyes followed as Alma studied the books pages and yanked a white towel from her belt, wiping the pages dry. She gasped, running to her feet and after her with a reached hand before several Cat girls jumped in and held her back.

"Stop! Don't-we need that!" She cried, her heart beating endlessly in her chest. Alma looked at her with an awkward glance, leaning back and skimming through the pages. A moment later, she flipped back to where the book had fell before turning it to reveal to Janette a pair of yellowed pages with green stains.

"I'm just wiping this novel clean for you, is that a problem? I don't see any ink on it."

Felix stood up quickly as several cat eyes stared cautiously. "It's a diary, miss! My friend is just v-very protective of her stuff, right?"

"Oh-right!" Janette forced herself to chuckle, feeling the several paws on her begin to pull away as she stepped back two paces with her hands behind her back. "Right, yes I am... very protective, ehe. I'm sorry if I spooked you guys."

"Spuh-ooked?" One of the girls tried to say when Spi'Reto stepped in.

"No no, spook-duh."

"Spook-duh."

"There we go!" He offered a thumbs up, to which the young cat girl returned with a beam of satisfaction. Janette adjusted her dress as Alma calmly stepped up to her with the book in hand. She wiggled it in the air for Janette to slowly grasp, the elf facing her for a small moment.

"Well, thank you." Janette cleared her throat, examining her book before tucking it into her satchel. "Now, mind if I ask-"

"Pass." Alma stated, turning to walk away.

"What-but you didn't even hear me out, woman!"

Alma looked back, staring past Janette and directly at Felix. "It's sunrise, you three are due to leave. Grab your things and go."

"Hold on, can we talk first?" Felix asked.

Alma shook her head. "We gave you our gifts as an apology, now get out."

Felix frowned, turning over at Nyitzcha and Janette as they were being watched by dozens of cat girls. "Do any of you girls know who Nityri is?"

Most of them, no, all of them gasped at once. Turning heads and whispering, with Alma's eyes now glaring at the young man. Felix ignored her and turned around, breathing in. "We're trying to rescue Nityri and her family! Emyri, Syri, Dimyri and Na'Vi, do any of those names sound familiar?"

"Wow." Spi'Reto mentioned towards Nyitzcha, "Your husband is quite persistent."

"Sure is, the cocky lad." The little dwarf grinned.

One raised paw grabbed Felix's attention as a young Nekomata answered, "I know who NiNi is."

"I know her too!"

"And Mother Emy! We know her too!" The camp was overtaken by an echo of cat girls repeating those words or agreeing to them, leaving Felix sighing in relief before Alma grabbed his arm.

"My tent, now." She growled, pulling him away with her. "Get his girlfriends."

"Hey, not his girlfriend." Janette whined as Spi'Reto guided her and Nyitzcha to follow with them. The five of them pushed through the cat crowd, leaving their human fathers attempting to calm them down from their brief rush. Only one Grizzly remained captured with intrigue, tilting her head and watching those five walk away.

"Emy? Emy is alive?" She asked, beginning to follow their tracks.
