"Hey Nicole. Can you wait up a second?" You half yell, pushing yourself off the wall towards her. She looks a little annoyed but she sighs and stops, turning to face you. "What is it John?" She asks, in an exasperated tone you've never heard her use towards you before. "I just want to talk." You say, raising your hands in a conciliatory gesture. Nicole folds her arms and taps her foot, clearly waiting for you to talk.

While her eyes burn coldly into yours you try to formulate your swirling thoughts into words. You decide to start with the most important point. "Nicole, I love you." When you say this she looks completely taken aback, her eyes going wide as her foot stops it's tapping. "Like a sister." You quickly clarify, eager to avoid adding further confusion to the mix. "And I love Matt like a brother. I am happy for both of you, and I wouldn't do anything to mess with that and I definitely would never **** you to do anything sexual for me. I want you both to be happy."

When you finish your impassioned speech you find yourself a little breathless and you can only stare hopefully at your friend. She doesn't react for a moment, remaining still as a statue, until her eyes begin to water and she throws her arms wide, launching herself against you in an emotional bearhug. You hug her back, wrapping your arms tightly around her, neither of you caring about your bare skin pushed against each other. For a little while you just hold her, feeling her pounding heart slow and her breathing calm.

"I know you would never." She sniffles into your chest. "But I was so upset about having to do anything for that asshole Tom I couldn't think straight. And when you made Sarah suck your... you know what, I didn't know what to think. That was so unlike you." As she says this she keeps her face buried in your chest, unwilling to let go of you.

"That was Mirandas idea." You sigh, feeling bad for blaming her even though its the truth. "It was still mean." Nicole continues. "Leading her on like that while you're with Miranda when you know Sarah has a crush on you..." If Nicole said anything after that you didn't hear, her words were so shocking that it took a moment for you to interrupt her.

"Nicole. Sarah does not have a crush on me." You tell her, peeling her off of you a little so you can look her in the eye. "Of course she does." Nicole reiterates, looking completely serious as she meets your gaze. "She's been obsessed with you all night. She keeps staring at you and whispering stuff at you and she's all over Tom trying to get you jealous." As Nicole explains it from her point of view it sounds reasonable, but you know more than she does.

"She doesn't have a crush on me, she's just mad at me because I turned her down..." As you say those last three words you trail off, realizing that this really wouldn't rule out her having a crush on you. Nicole giggles at the blank look on your face. "That sounds like a crush to me." She laughs, playfully pushing you as you stare into space. Shaking your head you try to continue your argument. "No, that's not it, she also threatened to hook Miranda up with Tom just so I couldn't have her."

"Or so she could have you." Nicole says, raising an eyebrow, making this all sound incredibly simple although you still can't believe it. Thinking about it, she did say that she wanted to make you happy. Maybe this is her sick twisted way of getting you to be hers, by making Miranda Toms. "Well, I see I've given you a lot to think about." Nicole giggles again, breaking the hug completely. "I'll leave you to it. And I'll tell Matt what you told me, okay?" As Nicole departs you nod your head, too lost in thought to say anything.

Is it possible that you've just been overestimating Sarahs intentions this whole time? When she dragged you into the bathroom earlier she did ask you to fuck her, could this really just be her lashing out because of unrequited love? It all seems a bit impossible. You could go ask her, she's probably still in her room right now, although it could be embarrassing if you're wrong about this. Or you could just do what you came to the bathroom to do and go back to the game. Either way, you don't have long to make up your mind, the break must be coming to an end soon.
