Face Davella.

"... You're going to tell me who died!" she shouts.

Wait, what?

"What are you talking about?" Eva asks.

"After their encounter with this Raditz as you called him. You said after the fight, someone died."

"I thought you didn't want spoilers."

"But what if I am unable to ever procure the missing books? I must know!" Her composure is completely shot. You didn't expect this at all. She was so elegant before, but now there's a crazed look in her eyes, like a hungry dog deprived of food. "You're going to tell me exactly what happens next."

"Are you serious?" Eva looks back and forth. "I get being into fiction, but--"

"Silence! Let him speak." She swings her wand again and says, "Words Escape!"

Your mouth opens completely on its own, and you suddenly blurt out, "Goku! He takes a blast through his body. But I mean, it's DBZ. Of course he comes back. Literally everyone does." You then slap your hands over your mouth.

She smirks. "Excellent. And now I'll take you with me. You will help me translate the rest of my books as well. And while you are at it, I would like you to tell me anything you know about my little spy that went missing."

Spy?

"I don't know what you--"

"Ridiculous. Her job was to maintain a dagger to the throat of your companion's family, yet she has gone missing completely. Are you to say you had nothing to do with this at all?"

I promised I wouldn't rat her out.

Davella's smile widens into a grin. "You will tell me one way or another. Words--"

You leap to your feat and hold out your hand.

"Escape!" Davella shouts.

Your ring absorbs the invisible spell. The only reason you know it worked was because nothing came from your mouth this time around. You then look her dead in the eyes as she recovers from the surprise and say, "Tell me why you're here!" before releasing the spell directly back at her.

Her eyes widen as she speaks against her own will. "Demon King Sa'dis knows of a book at the academy that has information on how to destroy his amulet, and I am to find and destroy it." This time, it's her that slaps a hand over her mouth.

"I knew it!" Eva says as she bounces to her feet. "We were on the right track. Good job, Kyle."

"You are craftier than I gave you credit for," Davella sneers. "But you have not seen the last of me. I will translate these books without your help. And when my spy returns, she will continue to help me as well. Goodbye for now then. The Demon King will wish to know of what happened here."

So she's willing to let the book go. I guess she has no way to get it now. If she sticks around, she's as good as captured. But it can't be easy for her. Sa'dis is gonna be pissed.

She runs towards you and shouts, "Blink!"

She's teleporting--

"Counterspell!" comes a powerful, feminine voice.

Her magic disappears and she merely stumbles right into you, slamming her chest right against your neck as she pins you against the wall. She pulls herself off, and turns in terror at two figures standing at the doorway.

With her hand out, it's Lady Sulta. Beside her is Lady Vraelion.

"That's as far as you're going to go, Davella," speaks the Acting Grand Master herself. She stands there, as gorgeous as ever. Though, her face is serious and stern. She lifts up her other hand, and a familiar yellow crystal is being squeezed in her clutches. "These were found throughout the academy grounds. I think it's quite obvious given what's happening here that you know about them. Vraelion here filled in most of the details. You aren't going anywhere."

"Oh thank god," you say with a sigh of relief.

Lady Sulta looks to you and flashes a smile. "Don't worry, Warren. Everything is fine now. We can speak more about everything that happened after we contain the criminal. Professor Davella, consider yourself released from your duty as a professor at the academy, and welcomed as a captive."

You sink back against the wall. Then, you look to the surprisingly quiet Malakae.

She's behind her--arms crossed. Her eyes meet yours, and then she looks away bashfully. They wander for a moment, but finally, she looks back to you and speaks. "You did well," she says.

I didn't show she could say anything positive about someone else.

"But you're not to say anything about what happened to me in there!" she shouts as she points a finger in your direction.
