Erica's Great Day

Erica felt unstoppable. No matter what happened that day, it kept on turning out great! She'd had good days, even great days before, but this one really took the cake!

Arriving at the office, she found herself to be the only one there, despite the fact that both her intern and two of the design team had promised to come in. On top of that, the materials she had requested be sorted by that same intern were completely out of order, to pieces misfiled altogether.

It was great! Having peace in the office to collect her thoughts rather than having to work with the team was just what she needed. And getting the chance to sort the materials herself, just two days before the pitch, gave her the perfect chance to absorb as much information as possible before she presented to the client. It had taken her a while to locate the pieces that were missing, but by the time she had, Erica had found herself coming up with three new ways to organize the office, things that would make her life so much easier in the future.

That intern, Anna, had been problematic from the start. Erica was so happy that she'd found the mistakes Anna had made before the client saw them, but on top of that, Erica felt that she finally understood what Anna was lacking, that coaching her to be more successful in the workplace would be so much easier after today. It felt great!

Once she was confident in the presentation, Erica locked up the office and headed home, a smile on her face. By the time she'd parked the car, her mood was so high that she practically skipped into the house. Morgan, true to her Saturday routine, was absorbed in a trashy reality TV show. William, her son, was probably still at work. This was great. She could have a few minutes to herself before she decided what to do with dinner. Maybe they'd order in! Wouldn't that be great?
