Chapter 56 by Gray Gremlin Gray Gremlin

Who's ringing the bell?

Familial Conversations

Harvey reached the front door, curious about who could be ringing the doorbell, and opened it. Standing on the front porch stood a beautiful young woman. She had long, curled, honey blonde hair sticking out underneath her stocking hat, which featured ear flaps and a ball on top. Although she wore a winter coat, her prominent bust couldn't be hidden. A bubbly, cute face smiled brightly at Harvey.

"Chastity?" Harvey managed to say in disbelief before the talkative girl jumped into action.

"Hiya, Sir Harvey--I mean Harvey, sir--I mean Mr. Diamond! Whew, this place sure is awesome. Shenai wasn't kidding when she said people would die when they saw Diamond Cabin--hey, you see what I did there? Died at Diamond Cabin." The honey blonde broke into a fit of giggles at her words.

Despite his initial surprise, Harvey couldn't hold back the grin that came to his face as he watched Chastity give one of her usual cheerful ramblings. Chastity Kupp, twenty-three-years-old, worked as a receptionist at Diamond Corp. A legacy employee of sorts, her mother and grandmother were lifelong assistants at the company, she lived up to almost every stereotype of a ditzy, busty blonde. A pure airhead, she couldn't be trusted with any important matters, so she handled the front desk.

"Come on in; it's too cold to stand out there," Harvey offered as he moved aside to allow her to enter.

"Holy moly!" she exclaimed upon seeing the foyer and the little bit of the cabin that could be seen from where she stood. "The place is like a castle!"

"While it's always nice to see you, Chastity, what are you doing all the way out here in this weather?" inquired Harvey.

"Whoops, sorry, boss. I have that paper--I mean file you wanted," she informed him while holding up a folder. "Um, it's the Gizmo Dynamite--no Dynamo?"

"Gizmo Dynamics?" Harvey supplied for her.

"Bingo, that's the one!"

"But why did you bring that all the way out here?" her boss asked.

"Oh, drat," Chastity muttered. "I brought the wrong one again. I'm sooo sorry!"

Chastity had a reputation for mixing up business information in the five years she worked at the company. A fact that led new employees to berate her and demand she be fired. That demand always met immediate resistance. The honey blonde had roamed the halls of Diamond Corp since she could walk, and employees loved her. Harvey's brother, Graham, showed endless patience with the receptionist, and usually smoothed over any mistake. Chastity might be terrible at most business duties, but she was a walking encyclopedia of every employee's life. She could rattle off the names, ages, and descriptions of every spouse, significant other, and children of her coworkers. She planned every birthday party, condolence letter, and morale-boosting event. None of the activities were part of her job description; she just took it upon herself to brighten up the moods of those around her. Harvey would never forget how she went above and beyond her normal behavior when it came to helping employees who dealt with a terrifying health diagnosis or the loss of a loved one. In Harvey's mind, the ditzy blonde would always have a job at Diamond Corp. He knew that Dalton Pierce felt the same way, even if she sometimes drove the CEO crazy.

"No, no, no. It's okay. I'm just curious as to why you drove out here to drop it off," Harvey said, placating the young woman.

"Oh! Mr. Diamond--I don't mean you--the other Mr. Diamond asked me to bring to you. He said it was very important and it couldn't wait," Chastity explained, trying to recall what she had been told.

Why would Graham send her out here with a file he knows I don't need? Did some new development occur in the last couple of days? And why did he not call? As Harvey pondered the Gizmo Dynamics deal, he absentmindedly looked over the blonde before him. He took note of her adorable face, energetic personality, her toned legs and ass poured into her tight jeans, and the pair of DD-cups sticking out on her chest. Suddenly, Harvey experienced an epiphany. Whitney!

Controlling the sudden burst of anger he felt, Harvey **** a smile on his face. "Yes, I did need this file at some point, but I guess something came up, and my brother knew I should see it right away. Thank you very much for bringing it, Chastity. I know it's a long drive."

"And windy! Boy, oh, boy, I thought Mother Nature was trying to blow my car off the road. But I didn't mind. It's nice to be trusted with such an important task. Mr. Diamond--the other one--gave me the rest of the day off with pay."

"Well, of course, he did. It's only the proper thing to do on a Friday. However, I can't let you turn around and drive another two hours back home. Not in this weather. How would you like to stay over for the night?" Harvey politely offered.

"Wow, that would be so cool. Let me take off--," Chastity broke off her words and surprised her employer by slapping her forehead. "Fudge berries!"

"Uh, what?"

"I didn't bring any extra clothes," the honey blonde explained with a pout. "I better not stay."

"That's not a problem. I stock up on extras for circumstances like this," Harvey assured the concerned Chastity. "And I have a feeling that Whitney will gladly let you use her clothes."

"You're the nicest, kindest boss ever!"

"Alright, let's get you warmed up," Harvey said with a grin at her infectious happiness as he opened the front door for her. He gave the couple waiting in the car a wave. "How about I get somebody to make us hot chocolate?"

"Okey dokey," Chastity replied, taking her winter coat off to reveal a tight sweater.

If only she weren't so innocent, Harvey shook his head. And she's like family.

Watching her tight behind sway back and forth as the blonde walked down the foyer, Harvey issued a loud sigh. With Rachel not around, Bridget swiftly acted as hostess for their new arrival. That allowed Harvey to deal with why Chastity showed up on his cold doorstep. Turning, he unleashed a roar down the west hallway. "Whitney!"

Stomping down the same hallway, it didn't take Harvey long to find his daughter. She peeked around the corner from the master suite's doorway. Harvey assumed she had been listening to his conversation with Chastity the whole time.

"Hey, Dad. Who was at the door?" Whitney asked like she didn't know.

"You! Don't you even start!"

"What did I do?"

"You know perfectly well what you did," Harvey glanced past his daughter, noticing the other girls in the bedroom. "Get into the den right this minute."

"But I don't under--"

"Get!"

Harvey followed Whitney into the den/office, slamming the door shut behind him. She turned to face him and made another effort to deny her role. "I don't know what--"

"Whitney Honor Diamond," Harvey announced in a low voice, one filled with fury that shook his daughter. "Stop that right now."

A crack appeared in the facade of ignorance Whitney wore on her face, but she didn't say a word.

"Do you think I'm a fool? Like I couldn't figure out what was going on?"

"No," Whitney softly muttered.

"Here's what I think--no, what I know what you did. You called up Graham, who you've had wrapped around your finger since the day you were born, and told him you needed a favor. You probably didn't say why you wanted a pretty girl sent over here, but I'm sure you requested one. I'm just shocked that you would think Chastity is someone I would take advantage of like that."

"I didn't ask for him to send Chastity!" Whitney blurted out, but then she looked down after realizing she admitted to being involved.

"So, you did ask him to send a woman? What exactly did you tell your uncle?"

"I told him you needed the file right away, and it would be nice if you sent it with a pretty girl that was single," Whitney narrated her actions while looking everywhere in the room except at her father. "A special girl. I guess Uncle Graham doesn't understand what special means."

"What is wrong with you?" Harvey asked in exasperation. "What were you thinking?"

"That you needed to get laid. That's what!" Whitney's voiced started to gain strength again. "You're going stir crazy; everyone can see it."

"I've obviously gone wrong somewhere in raising you if you think this is a good idea," Harvey said in a quiet, even-keeled tone of voice. "Whitney, you can't just call company employees over here to fuck me."

"But you won't try and find anyone else," whined the teenager, sounding like her actual age for once.

"Jesus, pumpkin. Do you realize what you had planned is blatant sexual harassment? The trouble I and the company could get in if the woman went to the police or a lawyer," her father patiently explained. "Pamela Mims in HR already has it out for me. I can only imagine the disappointment on Dalton's face if he heard about this one."

"But no woman at the company has ever turned you down. They all were envious of Shenai!" the blonde teen insisted.

"Honey, I've always tried to be highly careful when entering into a sexual relationship with an employee. Honestly, I probably never should, but even I have weaknesses, and it's not like I didn't make some embarrassing efforts when I was younger. Young, just like you are now, which is why you should have never gone through with this idea, let alone come up with it."

"But I wanted to help you. I wanted to find someone to take care of your needs like Shenai." Whitney finally looked into her father's eyes, hoping he would see her reasoning.

"Pumpkin, is Shenai someone you think I can replace so quickly?" Harvey asked the words that cut right through his daughter.

"What? No! No one can replace Shenai. She's one of a kind," Whitney responded with such sorrow in her voice that Harvey knew she finally realized how badly she miscalculated. Looking down, she muttered, "I'm sorry, Dad."

"Sorry isn't good enough this time. You had Chastity drive two hours in poor weather under false pretenses. As you've no doubt heard, I've asked her to stay over. I can't let her drive back today. You will be punished for your behavior. First, you're going to play personal hostess to Chastity for the day. Second, when we get back home from this trip, you will be grounded."

"Grounded?" whined Whitney before stomping her foot in anger. That action brought a smile to Harvey's face, as it reminded him of how his little girl acted a decade ago.

"And I think to make it up to Chastity further; you will be spending some time shadowing her at the front desk." He ignored the gasp that came from her and continued. "Yes, that sounds like a fine idea. Maybe handling duties like that will humble you a little."

"Aw dammit," groaned Whitney.

"Now, how about you go back and enjoy your last days of freedom with your friends, and let me worry about my own sex life. Okay?"

"Fine," Whitney snapped out and started to walk to the door. Opening it, she paused for a moment and looked back. "I'm sorry, Daddy."

Sean snuggled into the plush chair and relished having the opportunity for some quiet time to read more of the novel, The Compulsive Lying Client. Earlier, he had been surprised to notice the little reading area set up on the top floor next to the stairs. It consisted of a large plush chair, a matching footrest, and a small table with a reading lamp. After whatever drama Whitney caused to enrage her father, Sean hoped to escape from his problems by focusing on the fictional issues lawyer Jack Steed faced from his lovely client, Mona Mouser.

The page-turner had picked up on the action, and Sean had just started to read a steamy encounter between Jack and a villainous madam when he felt a presence. Looking up, he saw his sister standing before him. Peyton seemed to be studying him, which caused him to glance down in relief that his hardening dick--from the book's sex scene--was hidden by the way his body curled into the chair.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Peyton asked as she went to sit on the footrest currently not in use.

"Fine, I guess," Sean answered.

Peyton bent forward for a closer look at the bruise on his head. "Does it hurt?"

"Not really, it's like a dull discomfort at times, but nothing worse."

"Look, I'm truly sorry I didn't notice it at first," Peyton apologized over an issue that had been bothering her since arriving.

"That's okay. I know you were upset over how you found Lacey and me." He shrugged off her failure to notice his injury. "I swear it's not what it looked like. We really did fall onto each other."

"Yeah, about that; I wasn't mad at you, but joking. If you and Lacey wanted to date, that would be okay with me," Peyton explained, leaving out the whole destiny line she and Lana told Lacey. "I think you two would be great together."

"Uh, thanks, but we're not into each other that way. Besides, she's dating Austin," Sean remarked.

"Well, relationships end. However, seeing you two like that made me realize we never talk much about girls," Peyton noted, causing Sean's interest to rise. "I'm your older sister, and I should be there for any advice or questions you have. You shouldn't always have to go to Finn for stuff like that."

"Uh, it's okay. I never wanted to bother you with my stuff," Sean said awkwardly.

"See, right there is why I feel guilty. You shouldn't think it would be a bother to me. I want to help you. It's what big sisters should do for their little brothers," she earnestly told him. "I should have been around for you more when you and Beyza had problems."

"I don't think anyone could have helped me with Beyza. I just wasn't ready to be in a relationship with her," Sean stated. He avoided the fact that Beyza sensed he liked someone else and was only partially into their relationship.

"Do you like anyone else? Gawd, the last girl I remember you having a crush on, was Lana for all those few years. I feel so out of the loop about your life," Peyton continued, not waiting for him to answer her initial question.

Sean hesitated to respond. He long wanted to go to his sister for advice about Ramsey but never did. He worried that if Peyton knew, then it would only be a matter of time before Lana knew. Not that Peyton would tell her, but the two best friends had a way of sensing what the other thought or when the other kept a secret from them. Lana's knowledge could lead to a calamity. Unlike Lacey, the older Stratton sister had a disastrous reputation for matchmaking. Almost straight out of a romantic comedy gone wrong. The results of Lana attempting to set up her circle of friends with potential boyfriends and girlfriends had long scared Sean, Lacey, and their close friends. Whenever the busty redhead showed any inclination to play matchmaker, they fled from her sight.

"Uh, not really at the moment," Sean responded to his sister.

"Nobody at the cabin catch your eye? What about Whitney?" Peyton inquired.

"Whitney? No. What made you think that?"

"She mentioned her new boyfriend got a little jealous of the two of you," the blonde-haired coed explained. "He's not giving you a hard time or anything, is he?"

"Owen? Not really. Just some dirty looks. Austin's been more of a problem."

"Austin? Yeah, you two have that history. I still wish I had found out about him and Lacey when they first started dating. By the time Lana and I realized it was that bastard, she was already too much in love with him for us to stop it," Peyton recalled with a strong dose of venom in her voice. She never forgot the bully that picked on Newt and caused her brother to come to his defense.

"Yeah, most people think he's this great guy," Sean pointed out.

"But we know the truth," Peyton added, while seemingly lost in thought. Snapping out of it, she stood up. "I'll let you get back to your book. Wait, is that another of Mr. Stratton's books?"

"Yeah, he brought me a couple with him."

Shaking her head, Peyton chuckled. "I swear you and Finn are so alike." She moved to leave but stopped at the top of the stairs. "Sean, I meant it when I said you could come to me about girls. Don't ever think it would be a bother."

"Okay, Pey. Thanks."

Does Sean get interrupted again?
