Dracula's wait

After the meeting between employer and employee, Nick took to the street of New York City for a stroll back to his apartment. He wondered what it was that Drac wanted with the photos he had taken. Did it have something to do with taking over the world or something? He shook his head; it had nothing to do with him. There were superheroes in the world, right? They’ll take care of it, they always do. What he did not know was that Dracula knew where he lived and where to normally find him should the nosferatu’s need arise. Which unfortunately for this photographer it would be soon.

Meanwhile, in the current lair of Vampyr King, Lilith Drake was leaning against a wall next to her father’s servant, Destiny. The long-haired vampyr and former Princess of Wallachia had a mischievous, fanged smile splitting her cheeks. She just knew something was up, the absence of the former Voivode was a clear sign. Lilith also had a hunch that this servant knew much more than she let on.

“So, Irene, that’s your name, right?” questioned the ex-Princess, then with an added impishness continued, “What’s Daddy-dearest’s newest plot this time? Must be important if he’s risking going out during the day.”

The seer frowned, she was the 1 after all, who advised her Undead King make peace with his daughter to end her constant opposition of his goals. He did of course but now the orphaned Princess only used their truce or cease-fire to annoyingly visit whenever she felt like it.

“Lord Dracula seeks a queen, Lilith,” answered Irene, clearly annoyed.

This woman, for some reason, always managed to annoy her. The mutant vampyr had since come to understand why her master found his offspring as a thorn in his side.

“Is that all you’re going to tell me?” inquired the day-walker slyly.

“That is all he would permit me to tell anyone,” The undead mutant responded with a scowl.

Dracula and Raven slipped their way into an apartment building within the SoHo District of Manhattan. They had found an empty apartment in which they to sitting near the window where the sun’s rays would have passed hours earlier.

“How long must we wait, my love?” inquired Raven, unsure of her master’s next move.

“Long until daylight has passed until night,” the vampyr answered as he watched the storm clouds, which he had created earlier, pass.

Just then sounds of moving out the hallway are heard, out of necessity Dracula stands walks to the door and peeks out. There stands a beautiful, woman with long red hair and vibrant green eyes; she is dressed in a white shirt with a heart on it and a bit worn light blue jeans. The bit of cleavage she shows is just right. He could hear her talking on her cell phone, and just then a look of sorrow and loneliness crosses her lovely features.

“Oh? So, you won’t make it tonight either?” She had a beautiful voice, “I see…well…g’bye, Tiger. I love you, see you tonight.”

Dracula smiled this woman interested him but little, still she might make potential bride. He then motioned to Raven as to inquire about her identity.

“What is it you wish of me, Master,” asked the changeling bride.

“I need you to inquire about her identity,” Vlad ordered, he had to admit, a lovely woman like her made him curious.

Raven smiled and strolled over while changing her skin from the dress to just pants and a t-shirt in the woman’s blind-spot. She did not know what interest her dark master had in this human, but she was happy to oblige him. He did not entirely take her into his confidence as to his plotting. She never trusted anyone in her existence as much as she trusted her beloved.

“Hello, Miss…,” the bride started.

The red head jumped slightly, startled by the feminine voice behind her and turned quickly to find an attractive brunette with nice smile. How did this woman sneak up on her? She really must have been in her own world for the brunette to have surprised her so.

Misses,” beautiful redhead quickly corrected, “It’s Mrs. Parker but my friends call me MJ.”

“I see thank you,” Raven said as she turned away and left for her master.

MJ just stared, confused at the sudden appearance and departure of this strange brunette but then she shrugged and turned back towards the door unlocked to enter her apartment. She sighed; it was going to be another lonely night without Peter.

When Raven returned to her Master, he had already left down another corridor and he told her to wait until his visit with Sue tonight was over. It was to be night and he insisted they leave soon. He checked the clock, the mortal saying “time flies” was not an exaggeration, it was 8:30 pm. He instructed her to remain here while took off for the Baxter Building. He quickly converted to mist through the mesh screen and then bat into the night all the while Raven traveled to the empty apartment they had occupied before to wait.
