You decide to keep moving forward. The next badge is only a few days journey away, in Cerulean City. After a short rest, you make your way to Route 3 with a renewed sense of purpose, and a shiny new badge in your bag.

A couple of battles down the way, and Ace starts glowing. He is ready to evolve! You watch with excitement as Ace turns from a Charmander into a Charmeleon! He stands taller and looks ready to fight. The rest of your team progresses as well, with Jenny hitting level 21 and Lacy reaching level 19.

Along the way you catch an Ekans, which you rename.
