Another boring work day

Dean wakes up to his alarm, he wakes up in a haze. He takes a couple minutes to get himself up to start his day. He goes through the motions of his morning routine and heads out to his job.

The morning commute just makes Dean depressed. He thinks about how everything is unfolding, the end of the Master Plan seems to be coming to an end but who is going to be the real winner here? Of course he has had his fun along the way but have things gone to far? He doesn’t want to lose Brooke, but he may have already.

Dean arrives to work and gets swamped with paperwork. At least the stress from work can relieve him of his stress at home.

Lunch time rolls around and Dean can finally have some free time and relax, or so he thought. Unprovoked Brooke texts Dean, he hesitates at first unsure if he really wanted to open it.

Brooke: I’m taking Richard to buy a car so I don’t have to drive his ass around anymore lol

For once Brooke had some attitude and emotion in her text, she didn’t seem like a robot just spewing information. Dean took this as she was in a good mood and texted her back.

Dean: how was last night?

Brooke: good, the photo shoot was a lot of fun! I didn’t want it to end! Alexa wanted to hang out after so I just stayed, I hope that was okay!

Dean actually smiled a little bit, this was the first time in a while that they had an actual conversation, things briefly felt normal. He exited out of the messages app and saw the camera app. He just shook his head, he forgot about the batteries again. He decided to write himself a note to pick up batteries on the way home from work today. He hasn’t been himself lately, always forgetting about things.

Dean dives back into his work for the rest of the day. It’s on his drive home that he has a moment of self-reflection.

Dean looks in his car mirror at himself, he doesn’t even recognize himself. He is not the same person he was when the Master plan started. The little excitement he gets from time to time doesn’t seem worth it any more. Was the Master Plan still in Dean’s best interest?

The Master Plan started out as a way for Dean to help his poor roommate make something of his life, which has worked, that’s been successful so far. The Plan was also to help Dean explore another one of his sexual fantasies, which it did and continues to do.

Less than a week ago it seemed the the Master Plan was coming to an end but things now seem to be getting dragged along. Dean needed answers, he needed some sort of end to the Master Plan, it’s been long enough.

Dean pulls up to a store to get batteries for his cameras, just a quick in and out so he’s back on the road to his house.

Dean continues where his thoughts left off. The perfectionist in Dean wants to complete the Master Plan still but at what cost? The loyalty of Brooke crosses his mind. Is she still on Dean’s side?

Dean constantly has questions for himself and others that seemingly never get answered. It’s time to take a stand, it’s time to get answers.
