In 2020, one month prior to the premiere of “Ka-ren the Barbarian”, JIYUU released a documentary about the original manga. It was meant to act as a teaser to increase the fans’ excitement about the show, but also as a way to introduce the characters and lore to new audiences.

The documentary featured an interview with CLAMP’s creative team (writer Nanase Ohkawa and artists Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi), in which they explained the lore and main characters of the manga, as well as some anecdotes about its creation.
