Ambush! Part 1

You kept trekking through the woods as you followed Vixen, Huntress, and the others from your huge 'slumber party.' Your hunting instinct allowed you to track their overlapping footprints for a few miles. At first, unbeknownst to you, things seemed eerily peaceful. There was hardly a sound except for a tweeting bird or two. And perhaps, that was the problem...

You reexamined the ground, seeing their footprints had stopped completely where you stood. Although, one set of tracks seemed strange: there was a slight scrape from the shoe prints towards you.

Someone jumped up from there.

A split second after understanding, you heard two roars: hers and a lion's! You sharply turned to see Vixen pounce on you, pinning your arms and legs to the ground. Her claws pierced into your upper arms, forcing you to cry out in pain as blood seeped to the surface from Vixen's punctures. "Mari, stop it.." you groan. "You're not an ape's servant. Snap out of it."

"My lord knew you'd come back for us," she smirked, "but he never thought you'd come after us and not him first." You growl, trying to ignore the pain and focused on what you needed to do: get out of Vixen's clutches before re-recruiting her.

"You're being controlled, and I'll free you all; I trust my friends to stop Grodd." You once more channeled the morphogenetic field, briefly conjured the spirit of an electric eel as it wriggled in front of your belly, and right after it disappeared, you electrocuted her and pushed her off! She stumbled backwards as her body had paralyzing electric currents caressing her form, and you rolled back and pushed off with your hands to stand again. Despite feeling the sharp pain in your arms, you put up your hands before your chest as part of a Kung-Fu stance.

Vixen bared her gloved claws, growling a warning at you. It was a good thing you channeled Flash's essence before doing anything, or else you wouldn't have reacted to Huntress firing her crossbow's arrow. You darted to the side fast as a speeding bullet, then you ran up the tree Huntress hid up in so fast, that the two of them watched in surprise. You grabbed the branch above you, quickly pulling yourself up and you stood across from Helena, face-to-face.

"Dinah got a taste of you," she smirked. "Now it's my turn."

Lantern and Bats ran as they easily followed Grodd's trail all the way to a faroff city. "Why would Grodd lead the girls here?"

Bats replied, "With the new abilities under his belt, Grodd will most likely want an audience to witness his strength. Or to ensure we don't fight our fullest with potential victims around us." They had just reached the outskirts of the city when they began to see collateral damage all over the place: sections of houses and buildings destroyed; live electric wires flailing to and fro; windows smashed in.

"Grodd's trying to ruin the League's rep with all this," Stewart figured.

"Worse," Bruce corrected. "He's asserting fear and dominance."

"Correct, dark one," boomed a gruff voice. They both turned their attention to the gorilla in Roman garb approaching with Diana, Harley, and Shayera in tow.

"Took ya long enough, Bats and Greenie," Harley mused. Shayera bounced her mace in one hand while gripping her handle in the other.

"You shouldn't have come, John," she warned. "Lord Grodd is very powerful."

"Indeed..." he mused, setting his sights on Lantern first. With his flaming telepathic waves, Grodd bombarded Lantern. Or rather, his forcefield. Shayera flew up at Lantern while Harley and Diana went after Batman!
