Oh No...

First, white shoes and a white dress appeared. Then a short sword and a circular bronze shield that looked almost gold. And finally, curly blonde hair that draped over the neck and a gold tiara rested on top. Diana was very shocked to see her... "Mother?!"

"Diana, the fight for freedom begins now," she replied defiantly. "On your guard!" The queen charged in with shield in front, but Diana pushed against it with as much strength that she could muster. "Diana, listen to me. You cannot trust your Emperor. You are his pawn, his servant."

"It is my duty to protect my king," she retorted. "I owe him my allegiance." She swept her leg at Hippolyta's legs, tripping her up backwards. Diana then arched her fist back, but Hippolyta blocked with her shield as she thrusted her punch forward. It didn't break the shield, but it absorbed Wonder Woman's attack, and it further stretched towards Hippolyta with the next strike!

Hippolyta took advantage of the situation and scissored her legs to catch Diana's, tripping her to fall to retaliate. The queen pinned her daughter with her shield. "Diana, this is all in your mind," she warned, and then her voice changed. "You are Grodd's puppet. Free yourself." Diana narrowed her eyes upon hearing the significant change in tone, as she recognized her mother's voice...

"J'onn?"

"That will be enough of that!" Grodd shouted as he jumped into the arena, making the ground rumble. Before the amazon and martian's eyes, the gorilla changed forms and became Hades! "Begone, shapeshifter!" Hades roared like Grodd and a ray of fire erupted from his mouth. Being hit by his weakness, Hippolyta turned back into J'onn for he could no longer hide behind his disguise, and was ultimately ejected from Diana's mind!

J'onn returned to his body at the Watchtower, gathering his surroundings and kneeling in pain. The others helped him up, and he explained the situation to the others... "Hades knows I attempted to break his control over Wonder Woman."

"You mean Lord Fire-breath?" Flash asked. "I thought that hairy ape was controlling them."

"It would seem that Hades is controlling Grodd, as well," J'onn supposed.

"Then we have less time to waste than I figured," said Batman. You knew you weren't seeing things, you thought...

"Send me back," you volunteered. "I can incapacitate them. It's my fault they're in that mess."

"Not by yourself, you're not," Lantern argued. You said that you knew how best to beat them, but Batman and Green Lantern already left the bridge. They needed time to prepare as they weren't gonna let you fight the menace by yourself.

But how did Hades escape Tartarus...?
