Not Just Yet

If you run away again, you thought, then you'd just be abandoning the girls when they need you the most... So you actually let Hawkgirl hit you with her mace, grunting in pain. It was worse than the mule kick! But you could only hunch over slightly, due to Wonder Woman's restricting embrace.

The gorilla tilted your chin up with his finger and told you, "Don't waste your breath. Your voice cannot reach them, for they belong to me." He leaned in closer and softly demanded, "Bow to me, mortal."

'Why did that sound so familiar?' you wondered. But you logged that thought away to back of your mind as Wonder Woman squeezed you even tighter right before releasing you, and you couldn't help but kneel on the ground. The beast grinned toothily with four sharp teeth showing, but when you said 'never...' after several deep breaths, his grin did a complete 180 and he growled like a beast. "How dare you to disobey!"

He attacked your mind as his eyes were burning once more. But with as much willpower as you could muster, you conjure a light blue boxing glove around your drawn-back fist and socked his pot belly as hard as you could. He hunched over, clutching his gut as you stand back up. You had better concentration now and conjured a staff in one hand. "How? Because I dare to."

He told his servants to form a perimeter for them to duke it out. And so they did.
