The candles all suddenly blew out.

Mackenzie stifled a gasp as the room suddenly plunged into darkness following a gust of wind from seemingly nowhere. The only light left in the room came from the crack under the door to the kitchens, and even that was faint. Completely disoriented, Mackenzie had no idea where she was in relation to anything else in the dining room, effectively blind and helpless in the eerie room.

"Is this supposed to happen?" Mackenzie whispered to herself. Something like this seemed potentially dangerous, albeit effective in scaring someone. Where did that gust of wind even come from? There weren't any open windows or doors to let something like that in...

Shaking her head, Mackenzie tried to steady herself. It was clearly time to move on from this room. Stumbling blindly through the darkness, Mackenzie moved with the intent of continuing on to the kitchen. Unfortunately for the helpless redhead, things didn't exactly go according to plan.
