He is moving out

Dean waits for an answer from Richard on what his big news is.

Richard says, “I’m getting my own place, I’m moving out.”

Dean is shocked, thoughts rush through his head on what this means. Richard moving out is one of the last things to be done to complete the Master Plan. The only other thing was to get a girlfriend of his own and they were currently on a double date. Dean could finally see the finish line.

Richard didn’t elaborate more than that, he had to have the information interrogated out of him. All Alexa had to input was, “that’s nice.”

Dean obviously had a lot of questions but didn’t want to come on too strong, “So... when?” Richard answered, “Soon, not sure when, I’m having work done before I move in.” Dean still curious, “oh? Interesting.”

This doesn’t help Dean, how soon is soon? Is he talking this weekend soon? This week soon? This month? How long will it be before Richard moves out? Dean is starting to make himself go crazy with unanswered questions. Maybe Brooke knows, maybe he can get a more clear answer out of her later.

The conversation passes about Richard and moved to something else, Dean finds himself thinking and not listening to Brooke, Alexa and Richard talk. Everyone finished their meals, Alexa still drinking but not as aggressively, she’s just trying to have some fun. She seems like she wants to be here.

Dean was surprised to see Brooke with a bunch of empty glasses. He hasn’t been paying attention but it looks like Brooke was drinking excessively as well. Brooke was always the sort of competitive type, whatever the competition may be. As for Dean, he has only had a couple drinks, he has to drive after all. Richard might have had a drink, Dean isn’t sure if the empties are a combination of Richard and Alexa’s or just Alexa’s.

The group got round after round of drinks, although the guys weren’t participating, Brooke and Alexa were the only ones drinking excessively. Dean thought the drunker the girls get the better chance Richard has with Alexa and maybe the better chance he himself has with getting laid by Brooke tonight. Dean tries to plot out a plan in his head for when they get back.

Brooke speaks up, “Let’s take this party back to our house!” They are all in agreement. Alexa stumbles out of her seat into Richard who steadies her. She’s just a little off balance. Richard and Brooke help steady her as they stumble out. Dean gets stiffed with the bill while they help Alexa to the car.

Dean catches up with them at the car. Alexa was shotgun for whatever reason and Brooke and Richard were in the back. Dean gets in the car, Alexa is messing with the radio. Dean finds out that Alexa called shotgun.

Dean drives all of them home, Alexa and Brooke drunkenly singing the whole ride home. Dean keeps instinctively looking in his rear view mirror at Brooke and Richard who seem to be sitting closer than they should. It could be just Dean’s imagination but he couldn’t account for where their hands were, he of course thinks the worse. Dean gets everyone safely home, Richard helps Alexa out of the car, she pushes him away, she’s not that drunk, she walks up to the house by herself. Dean and everyone enters the house, Brooke gives Dean a playful slap on the butt on her way in.
