A New Day

Kenny's eyes cracked open as he felt a beam of warm sunshine on his face. He let out a long exhale and looked to his left and instantly smiled as he saw Zoey curled against his body, her head resting right on his shoulder. He easily moved his left hand up and easily brushed a few strands of her beautiful red hair from her face. Immediately the girl's eyes fluttered open and her crystal blue eyes looked up and locked on Kenny's, "Mhm, morning," Zoey said in her honey-like voice,

"Morning," Kenny warmly replied, "You sleep alright?"

"The bonus of having to squeeze together on a twin bed, I was able to stay close to you all night," Zoey replied with a short stretch, "So yes, I slept very well,"

"Good, I think I smell bacon, so I'm pretty sure that means Brian and the others are already up and down there, and after our day yesterday, I think we need a little food to refill our energy," Kenny lightly chuckled. Zoey sat up and ran her fingers through her long red hair while Kenny got to his feet tossing on a baggie hoodie before stopping in his tracks,

Zoey let out a small mew and looked over to the teen and let out a smile as she saw Kenny staring at her with a near dreamy expression on his face, "What?" She softly giggled,

"On second thought we don't really need to leave this room, maybe we could just stay in bed..." Kenny replied causing Zoey to laugh while getting up, "C'mon, it's not that crazy of an idea,"

"It's tempting, I'll give you that," Zoey admitted, "But I do need to get something to eat today, and breakfast is smelling amazing," The redhead explained before planting a quick kiss on Kenny's lips, "But after...well, I won't have any excuses,"

"Hard to argue with that, or really at all with you," Kenny grinned back. The pair headed out of their bedroom and moved through the hallway, making their way down the stairs. As they hit the first floor Kenny heard some movement from the living room and peeked his head inside catching sight of JJ and Anna cleaning up the couches of blankets and pillows, "Oh morning guys," Kenny called out,

"Hey man," JJ nodded back, "Brian and Mindy got the jump on the day, cooking up a feast for us all, think Rachel and Kai just headed in there,"

"Haven't seen Nikki or Eric," Anna added on, not sounding very bothered by the thought,

"You two fall asleep watching a movie last night?" Zoey asked with an amused smile causing Anna to blush,

JJ, however, easily took lead, "Yeah we just kept putting things on, and before we knew it we were passed out. Brian already told us we had to clean up, made a little bit of a mess last night, popcorn and all," JJ smoothly lied, though he could already see Kenny looking up at him with a raised brow,

"Right, well...I leave you to it," Kenny replied while turning and heading towards the kitchen with Zoey,

"You don't think..." Zoey whispered out,

"Absolutely," Kenny replied with a smile,
