Buy a pack of cigarettes

"Maybe I should just run down to the nearby convenience store and buy myself a pack of cigarettes" Margaret thought.

"I have never smoked a cigarette is my life but what can it hurt? It is the only thing I can think to do at the moment"

Once the idea of buying cigarettes entered her mind she grabbed her purse and ran out of her apartment. It was only a three block walk to the store but she was nearly run over at one of the crosswalks as she was single minded in her pursuit to get to the store. Once she got inside the store she bought a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

Before she had even exited the store she had the cellophane off and a cigarette perched in her lips. She leaned against the front of the store and lit her cigarette. Even though she had never smoked other than in her dream she instinctively double pumped her first drag and inhaled the smoke to the deepest recesses of her lungs. Once the nicotine started entering her bloodstream she immediately started to feel better. It took four more deep drags before she started to feel normal.

Once she got to the point where she was finally relaxed she started to appreciate every aspect of smoking. She loved that first drag and how the smoke in her lungs gave her a nice buzz yet was incredibly relaxing. She liked the look of the all white cigarette between her left index and middle finger, it looked elegant and natural. She enjoyed watching the smoke come out of her mouth and worked on exhaling controlled cones of smoke. She was so focused on her smoking that at first she didn't even notice her friend calling to her.

"Margaret is that you? I didn't know you smoked."

Margaret was in a daze and then looked to she her friend Emily staring at her. Emily looked at Margaret intrigued with a half smile on her face.

"Margaret, Earth to Margaret!"

"Oh hey Emily," feeling a little self conscious she turned her head and exhaled her smoke away from her.

"This is new, when did you start smoking?"

"It is a long story, I doubt you would believe me."

"Well, you can tell me all about it over coffee. Come, we will get a seat where you can smoke outside and you can tell me your story."
