Grimmauld Place

Harry recognized his dim surroundings quickly. Even though he had only been here a few times, there was something about the old Black Manor also known as Grimmauld Place that made it instantly recognizable.

Dumbledore set the young naked looking witch on one of the couches in the Black drawing room.

Harry hadn't even remembered he was naked, until with a wave of his wand his headmaster summoned a blanket to cover him.

"Y-you brought me back here, sir?" Harry asked slowly.

"Indeed," Dumbledore started slowly, " you see Harry we are now in a very precarious situation."

"You know more than anyone the danger Tom poses, when he finds out the wards are down he's going to attack Privet Drive, " Dumbledore continued solemnly.

"B-but sir I won't be there anymore, he has no reason to attack them," Harry said slowly.

"I only wish that were the case," Dumbledore countered, "He will attack them if there is any notion they may know where you are."

Harry was conflicted. Sure he didn't always get along with his family but he didn't exactly want them to die either.

"I-I..." Harry started to say but stopped when his headmaster raised a hand.

"We're here now Harry we must continue on," Dumbledore started, "I suspect that your magic has altered enough that you probably can't make very good use of your original wand."

"What-what am I going to do..." Harry asked aloud.

"Yes things seem dark now Harry but we now have an opportunity ahead of us." Dumbledore said slowly.

"No one, except me, knows what happened to you, we can use this against him in our fight," Dumbledore said.

"I'm sorry sir, but how are we supposed to use the fact that I'm not a girl against Voldemort?" Harry asked confused.

"I suspect Tom is going to use one of the students at Hogwarts to try and infiltrate the school, since your new and nobody knows who you are, we now have the opportunity to discover his plans next term," Dumbledore explained.

"Y-you want me to go undercover?" Harry asked finally understanding.

"Exactly, we're going to create a new identity for you, one the purebloods must accept."

"And that's why you brought me here the Black Family manor," Harry slowly added.

"You catch on quickly, my boy, or as I should say my girl, now." Dumbledore said with a chuckle.

"Now since we're changing your identity, you can't have any of your old things," Dumbledore said slowly, "I'll hold onto them of course until after this is all over."

It pained Harry deeply to hear this, he basically had to let Dumbledore take all of his stuff. He couldn't risk being seen with any of it, if this new plan was going to work.

"E-even Hedwig?" Harry asked already knowing the answer.

"I'm afraid so," The old wizard replied with a frown, "For what it's worth I'll make sure to take good care of her until I can return her to you."

"I...." Harry started to say but slowly shook his head as he closed his eyes to stop the tears from coming, "take good care of her, sir."

"I'm proud of your Harry," Dumbledore said placing a hand on the black haired witch, "you've grown up so much."

Harry could only nod in response.

"I'm going to bring you some clothes and special books to help you get into your new role. You'll have the rest of this summer to become Gemma Black.

"Gemma Black?" Harry asked.

"Yes, Gemma, you're the long lost pure-blood granddaughter of Alphard Black, who was Sirius's Uncle," Dumbledore slowly explained.

Harry, or rather Gemma, watched as her headmaster stepped up and moved to the wall of the drawing room. In Black manor there drawing room had the family tree. It was over 700 years old and listed every Black that was ever born.

Gemma could only watch with wide as her headmaster stopped at a particular splotch on the wall, and said an incantation she couldn't even begin to follow.

The results were quickly evident though. There on the blown off portrait of Alphard a line was drawn, down to a man named Corvinus, and then a line down to Gemma. Dumbledore had altered the Black Family Tree cementing their backstory and Gemma's new role.

"You see Gemma, you're parents Corvinus and Marianne died tragically when you were young, but you were taken in by Marianne's parents and raised in France, by a pure-blood house," Dumbledore explained slowly.

"B-but I don't speak french sir," Gemma slowly replied.

"Not yet you don't." Dumbledore quickly replied, "I suspect we'll have to plant some memories to really make it stick."

"Some memories?" Gemma slowly repeated.

"Yes, but don't worry about that," Dumbledore followed up, "for now just have a nice night's rest."

"We'll talk more tomorrow, when I bring you some clothes and books," Dumbledore finished.

And just like that he was gone. Leaving a naked and rather confused witch behind.
