Robin brushed his hand through his hair, sighing. Nah. Not his business to tell her something like that. Helping her up was already a hassle, and now she felt indebted to him...

"What did you plan to do to repay me, again?" he asked.

"I didn't tell ya'll? Well, shoot! Awful improper a me!" she twanged, propping her bicycle upright. The handlebars pressed into her tits, but she still didn't seem to notice the shredded front of her sweat. "C'mon inside! I'll change into somethin' more 'propriate! Ya had breakfast? I can treat ya!" She said, moving to hitch her bicycle up to a bike rack at... the hotel?

"Are you going inside?" Robin asked.

"A 'course! My Meemaw runs the place!"

...She's the granddaughter of the owner of the hotel he's staying at? Shit. So much for avoiding her.

"How come I haven't seen you in the month I've been staying here?" Robin asked, reluctantly following the frumpy southern belle as she headed up the steps of the Lakeview Hotel.

"I was away at college! Just came back this mornin'! Nice to be back home, innit?" she chirped, glancing over her shoulder and grinning at Robin, her hands clasped behind her back and she bent forward. Her pose was almost coquettish...

Nice to be back home, though? He wouldn't know. He hadn't had a consistent home in years.

The two stepped into the hotel and the little old lady at the counter lit up at the sight of the girl who... Robin suddenly realized he didn't know the name of. For the best.

"Matilda!" Shit. There goes that plan out the window.

"Meemaw!" The college co-ed ran up, meeting the old woman as she rushed out from behind the counter, jumping into her taller granddaughter's arms. And probably getting a faceful of tit, Robin figured.

"Matilda, dear! How was college?"

"This semester's over'n done with! Happy to be back, Meemaw!"

"Oh, I see you met Mr. Carter, didn't you?" She leaned away from her granddaughter to smile at the horror novelist, who just nodded in acknowledgement.

The old lady ambled up, grabbing Robin's hands in his own. "Thank you so much, Mr. Carter... Matilda is a good girl, but she's very accident prone. I appreciate you being a good samaritan and looking out for her." That was stretching it, but... It was too much of a hassle to correct her.

"Yeah, it was no trouble," he dismissed, wrenching his hands from the innkeeper and slipping them into the pockets of his longcoat.

"Meemaw, can I treat'm to breakfast'n the restaurant as thanks?" the girl asked.

"Of course, Matilda! But you best get changed first!" She gestured at her granddaughters bust, causing the college girl to glance down at the shredded front of her sweater.

"Oh! Oops!" She stuck her tongue out, bopping herself on the head. "Awful silly a me not t'notice! I'll go change into somethin' comfier!" Odd, she didn't seem embarrassed or ashamed...

She turned and headed upstairs, leaving Robin alone with the little old lady who he was determined not to learn the name of.

"It's so nice to see Matilda's made a friend..." the old woman said.

Great... This was awkward. Would could Robin do? He was stuck with the innkeeper until Matilda changed and came back down...
