Maria looks confused for a moment.

"I, uh, thought you broke up... sir," she says.

You look at her sourly for a moment. She's right, of course. The fact she figured it out even though she was asleep through your screaming match and tearful mutual breakup punctures your self-image as a stoic controlled master. Ah well. Easier to explain.

"And with your help, I'll win her back. When she left I promised her I wouldn't pursue her. If you pursue her, I keep my promise," you say. Maria's brow furrows in doubt.

"I'm a - a little bi. Especially on your behalf, sir. But is she...?"

"Don't worry about that," you say, as you write a series of new phrases on her arm, unnoticed.

You don't know exactly what that'll do, but you trust the marker by this point.

She screws up her face in puzzlement then licks her lips, as if trying to figure out a puzzle. You notice her tongue is longer and thicker, and she seems to control it precisely. She starts to circle her sensitized lips and almost loses herself, starting to reach her hand down the back of her jeans, before you snap her out of it.

"Dinner time?"

"Uh, yeah. Actually I could really go for some tacos."
