Chapter 11

Would you rather see the bodyguards taken out Vaarvel's way or Au Revoir's way?
Play it Vaarvel's way
You turned to Au Revoir for a moment, causing her to nod hopefully, before breaking the bad news to her: Vaarvel was right on this one. This was one of the most dangerous missions you three had ever faced-- or that you had, at least-- and you couldn't afford to break cover yet. Vaarvel's skillset was exactly suited for this sort of thing. There would surely be plenty of opportunities for Au Revoir to help you all fight your way out later, but for now, going in flexing and breaking spines was a recipe for blowing Nora's cover and getting you all killed. "Mmmrrr.... If you are sure, Ciao. I yield! But if she is too slow, do not blame me if I get impatient, oui?" Au Revoir grumbled, crossing her arms over the chest of her swimsuit and slumping her shoulders like a pouting child. You reflected that if you'd tried to order her in this manner a few months ago, when you'd started all of this, she might have responded with violence... The fact that she was just whining was a mark of your progress.
"Good boy, Ciao. I wouldn't want to think that you're using any less than the full of your reasoning as our handler. The last thing we want within the Goodbye Girls is the presence of saboteurs," Vaarvel chuckled, patting her ally's shoulder sympathetically while grinning victoriously. "And never fear. My way is quick enough, une amie." The confident agent took the lead in front of your group, as you walked around the side deck towards the doors leading to the inner areas, away from the festivities of the party. Those would technically be restricted areas, although you doubted you'd encounter guards right away. Until you did, you could conceivably plead innocence, should someone find you snooping around. However, more likely, whoever found you would be quickly knocked unconscious by Au Revoir, who was bringing up the rear.
The inside of the Palm of Royalty was as posh as you could have imagined, while also containing more overtly Adder-related decorations, including carved, snake-shaped door handles and numerous statuettes. Only here and there did you find anyone dressed in a fancy party dress or a bikini; the ones patrolling in here were actual guards, wearing full helmets and blue combat gear. You wondered if you should take the time to remind Au Revoir and Vaarvel that you all had come to this party nearly entirely unarmed...
"'Scylla' is waiting for us just this way. I hope you're not losing your nerve?"
You shook your head, though you suspected that the lengthy hallway running from the kitchen towards the private areas would have a patrolman who'd be impossible to slip past without being seen. In fact, it probably had two; if she took too long incapacitating one, the other would come up directly behind him and open fire. How did she plan to deal with a pair of them?
You'd get your answer soon enough. When the first patrolman rounded the corner, Vaarvel wasted no time grabbing him in what looked at first like a sleeper-hold, intending to choke him out. With a sinister grin on her face, she tweaked her toned biceps hard, generating a sickening crack like you might here in an especially violent movie. You remembered that this time, there were plenty of high value targets to be found. Each of those would serve as better sources of information and furthermore, everyone on board besides Dr. Goldstein was to be considered a hostile... Vaarvel wasn't going to waste time choking out a henchmen.
Not wanting to be outdone, Au Revoir whispered to you from where the two of you were hiding behind behind a tall, serpentine statue. "I would have ripped his head clean from his shoulders. That's not so special." You wondered if you should tell your pouting fellow agent that she wasn't going to get extra points awarded for the brutality of her kills.
... When you turned your eyes from Au Revoir back to Vaarvel, you witnessed a scene defying comprehension. The vanquished Adder guard was back on his feet, standing as if nothing had happened. Vaarvel was nowhere to be seen. How...?
Quickly, you shook off the confusion of the situation and saw this for what it was: Vaarvel had, with alarming speed, stripped the body and stashed it somewhere, while redressing into its gear. She'd done all of that in just the time it took for you to turn and talk to Au Revoir, before the other guard could even come close to making his round and witnessing the scene. How could such a thing be possible? As you pondered the answer, the next guard appeared in sight. The humanitarian part of your brain was already mourning him. No sooner did he step past the corner, saluting his fellow guard, before he was taken in the same neck-snapping hold. With that, the hall's two guards were silenced.
You got your answer as to where the body had gone; Vaarvel lifted this one with both hands, then quickly deposited it outside one of the windows leading out to the party. Wasn't that pretty damn dangerous? Someone would see it for sure!
"I didn't come in here without a plan, Ciao," Vaarvel sighed, stripping back out of the Adder guard disguise as she spoke. Her unusually Egyptian skin-tone revealed itself in large swaths, as more of her bikini-clad body emerged from the gear. "That area was roped off from foot-traffic before we got in here. There is a guard out there, but I noticed he was on a smoke break. By the time he realizes there's a pile of bodies to be discovered, we'll be well clear of the investigation area. On that note..." The South African agent turned and made a "come hither" motion by curling her fingers, indicating that you should follow behind her. Following behind her was always a pleasure, especially with that skimpy bikini hugging her thick ass...
"Hmph. I would have destroyed the bodies!" Au Revoir grunted with a pouty frown.
One way or another, you three were free to proceed further in towards your objective.
