She wants to never be bothered by what he makes her do.

They just sat there, facing each other, with Tom watching as Sarah continued to think over what she could do. After a few minutes, she finally gave an answer. “I want you to go with the first thing. You can wish that I won’t be bothered by the things you make me do.” He was happy to hear that, if only because it was by every metric a better deal for him.

Making sure to say the wish out loud, Tom decided to say it nearly exactly as she had, only being a bit more specific. “I wish that no matter what Sarah does while under the influence of a change from one of my wishes, she won’t be bothered by it.” Felt the wish go through, then looked at her and raised an eyebrow. “Are you still bothered by what you did before?”

She rolled her eyes and lightly punched her husband on his shoulder. “Yes, doofus. You only made that with for future things, not anything in the present. But from now on, I won’t get bothered by what happens with your wishes.” She sounded mystified as she said it. “It’s...kind of freeing, actually.” Tom could only imagine what it was like. Knowing that now, no matter what happened, she wouldn’t be made about it.

“So, now that we’ve settled that,” he said, smiling at her and holding up the coin. “Did you want to make another fun wish, maybe just for the night? Or maybe something for the whole week? Or take a break and just live as yourself for a little bit?” He was happy to throw it over to her, if only because she was the one who was most affected by the outcome.
