Taenya decides to hide

Taenya waits a few seconds, surely if it was the elder or one of the knights they would announce that it was them. Taenya had no idea what was going out in the village but she was scared. The banging on the door got louder and Taenya was sure this was bad news, she run to the back of the altar picking up the small ceremonial dagger they use for special services, she then moved to the giant portrait of the goddess gently running her fingers alongside the of it until she found the switch, the portrait slowly swung open revealing a secret passage. Taenya took one final look back at the door which was now being heavily banged, the large wooden door was starting to bend, it wouldn't be long before whoever it was got inside, she grabbed her small candle and stepped into the secret passage pulling the portrait closed behind her.

With the portait closed the secret passage was more or less pitch black, thankfully the candle she had dimly lit the the long stone walkway, the elder said the passage way led out to small opening along the Balmor river, Taenya hoped she could get out and return to the village with some help.

She gently crept down the walkway moving slowly so as not to make a sound, then she heard the loud crashing of the big double doors being smashed apart, this caused her to let out a little shreak, she covered her mouth and slowly carried on down the narrow path. She hoped she made the right choice, hoping she could quickly get help and come back to save everyone, returning with a group of knights or kingdom guards to take back the village and save everyone. Taenya was knocked out of her daydream with the sound of the large goddess portrait being moved. Whoever had broken into the chapel had found the secret passage. Taenya panicked dropping her candle in the process, she gripped the knife tight as she reached out with one hand quickly rushing down the pathway, she could hear the sounds of heavy footsteps on the stone floor.
