Help Laura

Bruce could see Laura was still conscious and desperately trying to communicate with him. As he held all that was left of his lover in his arms an idea of how he could help Laura came to him. His body was unaffected by the strange bacteria, so if he could support Laura somehow, then maybe she could find a way to defeat the germs. Bruce held Laura’s body up in front of him, like a pair of overalls looking for a way to keep her upright.

As Laura’s body flapped in front of Bruce, her head flopping forwards onto her chest, Bruce noticed a split developing down Laura’s back. Fearful for what this meant for his love, Bruce reached for the gap to try and prevent it widening. As he held Laura with his left hand his right hand tried to stop the gap growing. To his amazement, Bruce’s hand slipped inside his girlfriend. He quickly withdrew it imagining it would be covered in blood or something gooey. He looked down at his hand to find it was clean and dry. What was happening to his lover?

Bruce was jolted from his thoughts by the sound of Laura’ muffled grunts. Without a neck, or indeed lungs, to make he voice heard properly, she was still desperately trying to communicate. What had Bruce done to trigger this reaction from Laura?

As if reading his girlfriends’ mind, Bruce slowly guided his hand and then his arm inside Laura. Laura’s **** noises grew less the more Bruce’s arm explored inside her. His hand found what could only be described as the sleeve of Laura’s right arm. His hand slipped right down and his fingers slipped into hers like putting on a glove. Nothing could have prepared him for this, but Bruce knew instinctively what he had to do.
