Abandon the boots

There was no way I was going to get my feet free and the water was already up to my chest. There was only one chance, I'd have to loose the boots. Moving as carefully as I could, I slowly pulled my feet out of my boots, making sure not to put them on the river's floor. Once I was free I swam back to shore. That was close but the loss of my boots was going to be a problem, I could tell. At least the costume showed off my legs. I looked back to see that damn bottle floating there in the water. I wasted all this time to come get it but not only did I come up empty handed, I lost my boots too. I better just get a move on, there was nothing else I can do here.
