Do you survive?
Barely (kill the mythical Nekt)
Author's note: Trigger Warning for **** ahead. I've tried to keep it non graphic. But please be mentally prepared.
With immense speed, you are pulled deep into the dark abyss of the lake. You had never realised how deep it was. Your ears are ringing from the pain of the pressure and you know that if it pulls you down any further you aren't going to even be able to make it to the surface before your oxygen runs out, even if the Nekt lets you go.
The water pressure rushing against you is so great you have to put in all of your effort to bend down and grab the slender wrist around your ankle. You open your eyes that had been closed to protect them against the rushing water not caring anymore about the stinging from the water. Only to realises that you can't see a thing in the darkness.
In dispair you think you have gone too deep. That no matter what you do, you are doomed to die. Hot anger explodes inside of you and you haul yourself by the Nekt's shackling arm further down. You draw your sword slashing it blindly into the darkness where the Nekt must be. Your balde seems like a lead weight, many times more unwieldy that you remember it ever having been.
You feel the hand jerk and release it's vice like grip on your leg, but you don't let go of your own hold on it and slash at it again. You seemed to have struck true a second time, for it jerks. You feel a silt like grit brush your skin and stink your eyes though you see nothing, but you don't care what is happening or where it comes from.
However your triumph is short-lived as you feel yourself weakening. Slashing your swords in the water is sapping to much of your energy.
You let go of your sword and and grapple your way to the Nekts body wrapping your legs around the first solid apendage you find and claw at the naked body beneath you with a rabid frenzy.
The nekt resists but nothing seems capable of stopping you with the single minded strength you possess in your **** throes.
You feel your lungs burning for oxygen. Your face and neck are continuously peppered by the strange silt, but you don't care. You know it's too late. Your mind grows sluggish and lightheaded. All you can think about is to bring down your killer with you.
All of a sudden you feel the flesh of the Nekt come apart beneath your fingers. It disintegrates as if it had been made of sand and you receive a face full of silt.
In the darkness you see a small white light suddenly appear and float up towards you.
You have only the time to think that it must have come from within the Nekt before your lungs can take it no longer and you open your mouth.
Water gushes in and you swallow mouth full after mouthful of the lake water. Hoping in vain that you could swallow the entire lake in the next gulp so you could finally breath in some fresh air.
You swallow until you can swallow no more and then you open your lungs and breath in water.
The White light had disappeared at some point but you didn't know whether you swallowed it or inhaled it.
What you do know, is that your mind is finally succumbing to the darkness of the lake.
Upon waking up, what situation do you find yourself in?
