Chapter 3 by DaSachamo

What's next?

Dad, wake up.

Your pillow is pulled from under you as your son starts to pelt you with it. "Dad, the sun is awake!" He says, whopping you again. "Get up DaDa!"

"Argh!" You yell playfully grabbing the four year old and tossing him on you other side of your king size bed. Grabbing another pillow you get him on his legs as he laughs along. Soon comes the tickling "What do you want?" You ask as you continue to get his sides.

"Breakfast!" He shouts, trying to squirm away.

You stop tickling him and let him get up. "Why didn't you say so? Let's go get your sisters then." Grabbing your phone off the nightstand you notice the notification light is blinking at the top. Clicking the side button you see someone has sent a message through your social media app. Odd, who the hell is Lisa? You think before grabbing your daughters and heading to the kitchen. After everyone has eaten their scrambled eggs and toast you decide to check your phone.

Lisa: Hey, how have you been? Heard you got married and everything.

You look at the photo by the name, it's some blond. Clicking on the profile they look familiar, vaguely but no actual recollection. Scrolling through some about information you went to the same school though she was a grade behind you, she still lives in the area, really basic stuff. She loves her cat, plays the games everyone tries to send invites to so they can get rewards, oh look, a zodiac sign post. But nothing that Kindles any surfacing memory about the girl.

Well, no sense in being rude.

You: Pretty good, and yeah I did actually. How have you been?

The response was almost immediate.

Lisa: That was a typical response.

You: What do you mean?

Lisa: You don't remember me do you?

"Not even slightly lady" you say aloud shaking your head.

You: You got me, I didn't exactly keep up with people after high school. Care to give me a hint?

Lisa: I used to have the biggest crush on you in school.

Well that narrowed it down alot, you were not the best looking guy at school by a decent margin. Your best grade was a B, you didn't play any sports, but you usually had a girlfriend. Nothing that lasted more than a few weeks, but you almost always had someone to hang out with on the weekend and all that entailed. It was highschool after all, you were still trying to figure out women, it wasn't often a girl held your attention above their collar bones.

Before you can come up with a response you get another message.

Lisa: Sorry if that was a little up front, and it's okay you don't remember. I was shy and avoided you.

You: Well, that makes me feel like less of an ass.

Lisa: That's good. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that, maybe we can get lunch?

You look up and watch your kids running through the house screaming.

You: I'd enjoy that, but family and all.

Lisa: If you get time you can just send me a message.

You: Absolutely.

"Fat chance." You think to yourself. Between the lack of a babysitter, no free time, and a jealous wife? You pull up some music on your phone to listen to while you wash dishes.

What's next?
