This story takes place away from the other stories. Ignore the stuff about being hatched from an egg and given gold to guard the princess. In this land dragons are rare but the tradition still stands with a few alterations. Dragons like you are captured from the wild when young and placed in magical chains that grow with their captor. It is considered bad conduct to kill the dragon as that would then require a new one be captured. Therefore, Knights are tasked with defeating the dragon non-lethally; often by knocking them out or incapacitating them; or rescuing the princess, bypassing the dragon entirely.
