"I hope you won't be offended if I say no," Alex replies. "I haven't seen Craig in a long time..."

"No offense taken! I completely understand," Kelly smiles. "Text me later, okay?"

"Sure, see ya!" Alex waves her friend bye.

"That was close," you whisper.

"Yeah, no shit!" Alex laughs. "God, imagine trying to get our stories synced of where we met and how long we've known each other for!"

"Well, we can sort out our past history over dinner," you smile.

"God, I'm starving!"

As if on cue a waitress in a light blue kimono walks up. "Hi there, are you ready to order?"

Even though the two were too busy to look over the menu Alex recommends sharing a tray of assorted sushi and rolls and you agree.

"Arigatōgozaimashita," the waitress bows and walks away.

"So, Craig," Alex turns back to you with an impish smile, "tell me more about yourself."

You smile back and tell her where you grew up, which school you went to, and about the job you hate. "And you?"

But before Alex could answer, the waitress comes back with the big tray of food.

"Itadakimasu!" Alex cheers, picking up a piece of salmon sushi and offering it you.

You open your mouth and eat it. "Arigato!"
