Do you have glasses lying around?
Shades, at least
You move into your bedroom and dig out a pair of sunglasses from a drawer. "Welp, might need to make these a bit more James Bond," you mutter to yourself before placing them on your computer desk.
You ponder for a moment what to say. 'Make these glasses show magical auras and gives you night vision.' Sounds about right, right? Good enough. Time to check out if you have wizarding powers as well, or if Alex was pulling your leg.
You close your eyes and repeat the phrase for a minute or so, focusing on the glasses in your hands. As you stop and open your eyes again, you ponder if they've changed color, because something feels different about them.
You put them on and look around, and sure enough, a misty pink-red aura seems to roll off of your body. The shade seems to be not as heavy as you thought it would be as well, so you go back into the kitchen and hallway to look at the infected items in the cupboard.
Sure enough, it was lighting up like a fireplace. Purple red hues shining through a faint pink-red aura of the container. "I'll be damned," you say as you look at it for a moment before you take off your shades to get a better l-
"Ouch!" you wince as you almost blind yourself at the bright light... in the dark hallway with no windows? You slowly open your eyes and the light gets slightly less annoying as your eyes seem to get adjusted to it. But you can tell this is not normal.
"Did you hurt yourself?" Alex asks as she comes out with a towel around her body, drying her hair with another. "Are you okay?"
"Uh, Yeah, I'm good, I think..." you say as you move over to the mirror next to the wardrobe. "Shit," you sigh as you get a clue to what you have done.
"What? Let me see Jamie," Alex says in a very doctor-like voice as she comes over and puts her hands on your chin to turn your face her way. This gives you a perfect view to read her emotions, which start at worry, then transitions into surprise, then confusion, then amusement. "Oh my, my little kitten, did we mess up the enchantment chant?" she says and giggles before scratching your chin.
"Yes, we messed up our enchantment chant, and now we got big green cat eyes," you sigh, standing there and letting her have a moment cooing and teasing you.
"Oh yes you do, my little fuzzball. Well, looking at the bright side, at least you're not a triple-A Hollywood fetish film reject. As far as I can see it's just your eyes."
"Oh, considering where I was this morning, that wouldn't have been too bad."
Alex gives you a slightly wounded look for a moment before perking up again. "Oh, slanted eyes, cat eyes, nothing ventured nothing gained. You think you'll handle the change until after we've gone on our night raid, or do you want to reset?"
"I probably should have reset, but... nightvision might be handy at night," you say as you turn back to the mirror and give your new irises a closer scrutiny, covering the sides of your face to make them expand. The world doesn't go too dark, but the colors seem to desaturate as you see them open to let more light in. As you glance at Alex in the mirror you get a shimmer of light reflected in your eyes distracting you. "Also, we don't know if those notes are safe from corruption yet... I probably should write copies and put them in various containers to see if they change."
"Hmm, not a bad idea. So you agree on the theory that we accidentally enhanced the container to keep the stuff inside?"
"Seems like it," you say as you put your shades back on and look at the box again. You mentally make a note to redo the enhancement on the shades before you forget about it and do the same mistake later on. "Oh well, I guess we got something to do beyond having sex and cooking food now."
Alex sighs with a **** look before she concedes. "Fine, learning magic and fortifying our notes takes precedence over sex and fancy dining. If we're lucky, we might learn how to make chocolate!"
"Would you eat magically manifested chocolate that might turn you into something?"
Alex freezes and her eyes dart around her head for a moment before her smile turns into a frown. "... fuck."
You laugh at the response and she joins you as you start planning out the itinerary for the day.
A training montage without eye of the tiger - because tigers have round irises - later...

The Unreality Pandemic
Maintain your reality, if you can
An unnatural event dubbed "the Unreality Pandemic" has allegedly been roaming around the world the past few weeks. Nobody knows much about it and most believe it's just a tale to sabotage the economic or political stability of their nations. Some voices, however, insist that it is real and recommend people to prepare by creating "anchors," written references to their old life, that they then can use to undo anything undesired.
