Fishing gone wrong

Flayn submerged her head underwater and opened her eyes, scanning for any fish nearby.

To her amazement, only a few feet in front of her was the legendary Fódlandy, a fish so rare she’d only ever seen it in books. She darted after the fish and reached out to grab it with both arms. She grabbed on but it quickly tried to swim away, wriggling in every direction to try and shake Flayn. She held on surprisingly well, but fell a dull scratching on her arms and chest.

Flayn realized that the Fódlandy’s back was covered in hard, pointed scales to deter predators. Flayn reluctantly decided to let go before the fish could draw blood.

While Flayn was able to avoid damage, the same could not be said for her swimsuit. The fish’s sharp scales left a large gash on the front of her suit down the sternum as well as several smaller ones next to it. One of them was directly over her right breast, revealing a small light-pink nipple to the open water. Flayn flushed red, she knew she couldn’t be seen like this. She needed to come up with a plan to get back to her room unseen, but before she could think any further she felt a tug at her lower back.

She looked behind her and saw a fishing hook embedded right in the back of her suit. If Flayn had been thinking rationally, perhaps she would’ve simply unhooked it. Instead, she flailed around helplessly, just like the Fódlandy had done to her. All this accomplished was getting the hook further tangled into her suit and making herself seem more like a fish to whoever had her hooked.

She desperately tried to swim away, but found herself getting reeled in by the almost impossibly strong angler. Flayn was underwater and had no way of communicating, so she just yelled internally in a vain attempt to save herself.

Please let go of me! My suit is ripped, everyone will see my boobies! I’m not a fish I swear! Someone help!

Flayn’s silent pleas went unanswered and she was pulled closer and closer to the surface, despite her resistance.
