He picks Debby

"Hi," Matt said. "I had a question about problem three. Did you get it?" He'd been studying up on how to talk to girls and finding a shared interest... or in the case of homework, disinterest... was recommended.

"I had problems with that one too. Let me show you."

He pulled his desk closer and watched as she explained how she'd done the problem.

"My tutor did it, really. But I understand it now." She smiled at him then covered her mouth like she'd accidentally shown him something nasty.

"Poor Debby was embarrassed by her braces. Well, he got that. After all, the kids here were all supposed to be perfect... their parents certainly spent enough money on them.

"Cool," he said. "Say, I wonder--"

"I'm going to assume you're discussing Trig and not engaging in social activities during school hours," Ms. Chadra interrupted. "Either way, I'd appreciate your full attention now."

Well, Matt had planned on looking at Debby's legs but giving Ms. Chadra his full attention was never a problem.
