Carol picks you up.

After hours of chatting with the ladies and several compliments on your new look, the end of the day finally came, and as you were packing away the shampoo, you heard the door to the salon open and two familiar voices. Looking out, it was Sarah and Carol, talking as they entered.

"My word, you really look darling, Erica." Carol gushed. "Such a gorgeous shade."

"Didn't I tell you?" Sarah said.

"What brings you back, Sarah? Forget something?" Madge asked.

"No, I was just around and I ran into Carol, which reminded me that I wanted to invite you gals over for a dinner party I'm hosting this weekend." Sarah said. "Bring the husbands and boyfriends too. And as for you, Erica. Well, we'll take care of that at the party."

You laughed uneasily and started to refuse.

"I'm sorry, I'm just so busy this weekend and I..." you started.

"Nonsense! Sarah's parties are legendary. You can't live in the neighborhood and not attend one!" Carol explained.

"But-"

"No buts. Except yours in a pretty dress at my party." Sarah said. "Toodles!"

Sarah walked out of the salon as Carol started chattering about how fun the dinner party would be and offered to drive you home, which you took. Thankfully, you were able to avoid another dinner with Carol and went home to do another check-up on the machine, considerably harder with your longer nails. Still without the technology required, you gave up and went to sleep.
