You can't wait too long for him to get a head start if you want to win, so you creep slowly down the same path. It's a painfully long one as well. You decide that you just need to hope he doesn't turn around. If he does, he'll certainly get a nice surprise. It's painful just how slow he's walking, however. It's driving you crazy. Your heart is racing.

Finally, he's nearing a turn. You can have a moment of relief.

You then step on a branch.

Immediately, you freeze up. The man up front stops at the turn, and looks around himself. You look back, and realize that even if you run right now, you won't get even close to a place where he won't see you. You're trapped in a long hallway with no escape. He's going to turn. You're screwed! Your panting increases in speed, and your face grows hot.

He then looks down the turn, and continues on. He didn't hear you after all.

You peek around and watch him yet again until it's time to move. Luckily, none of the next pathways seem to stretch out nearly as long. The problem now is if there are any dead ends, and whether or not he goes down them.

And your fears are realized quite quickly. Just as you peek down the next path, you see him only ten meters away standing at a dead end, and he's seconds away from turning around to come back. If you stay put, he'll see you for sure. If you run back, you might run into someone else, or take too long to finish. So, you opt for solution three, which is to run ahead. You quickly leap past the turn and continue on, turning the next corner before he can spot you.

Now you just need to avoid dead ends...
