The Truth
The Doors to the Hotel Mortemus were old, reinforced with steel and attached to their hinges for nearly 125 years, and for the entirety of that time nothing had breached them, no matter how many Blooded Vampires threw themselves upon the Doors, not one had even made a dent.
For Years the Hotel Mortemus had been credited as a true Stronghold, a kind of "Unhallowed ground" if You will, no one who had not been invited could ever enter, that was the rule and so those doors remained, tall, dark and unflinching.
You stood in front of those doors, outside of the hotel, just standing there, contemplating, thinking, though only for a moment. You raised Your right arm, your hand closed into a fist so tight that it suffocated the air in it, Your muscles flexed, doubling in size as you drew back slightly and... boom.
within the hairline cracks of a second, You blew those doors off, shattering the steel inside and reducing the outside wood to splinters, The entire building cracked and groaned at the Eleven-foot hole at its entrance like a wounded beast.
Slowly You stepped through, face twisted and enraptured in darkness, body wrought with immense power, eyes glowing the crimson of Molten Steel their absolute fury shifting left of the reception (now covered in splintered wood and bits of metal) where the receptionist cat-lady Namina sat tight against the wall, a mixture of shock and fear on her face as it looked at You.
"Wha... How?..." She squeaked quietly, You looked for a moment, hearing shouting behind You "Charles don't!" Cleo was behind You, calling out, You had told Her to look after Rose and with a glance behind You, You saw that She was carrying Her. Your eyes returned to the Cat-girl.
_"Not her, she isn't the One we want."
KILL, WHICH ONE, WHICH ONE DIES?!
"The old man, Corvus, He dies and his lackeys if they try to stop us."
WE WILL TASTE DEAD BLOOD, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! TEAR THE LIAR'S THROAT OUT!
(Seven Minutes earlier)
Cleo pulled two vials from her pocket, and handed them too You, crouched beside the **** Rose, still propped against the tree "The Silver Vial first, wait five minutes and then give Her the Bronze Vial" You followed Her instructions, Rose lazily opened her eyes "You need to drink this." You said softly, watching as she tipped her head back so that You could feed it to her "Muninn asked Corvus to send me, She's worried about You."
"I'm touched." You said, still bitter about Her running off to tell on You the first opportunity She got "You should be grateful, I'm pretty sure that, She's the only one You can really trust." Cleo said, it's strange she was keeping Her distance, You felt like that wasn't the worst news she had to tell You "I don't like the sound of that Cleo" You asked, She seemed apprehensive, to say the least, crossing Her arms over her moderately covered chest "Your father was a good man, a friend and a fellow practitioner of science...." Your gaze became a little more intense, listening quietly as she went on "If Your even half the man He was, then You deserve to know the truth." She was quiet for a moment like she was building up courage, "The second Vial." She said gesturing to Rose, You again fed Her the vile, wiping some of the spillage from her lips which had gone from ruby red to a sickly pink "Just spit it out." You commanded.
Her dark eyes shifted around before the words crept from her lips "C-Corvus isn't the original Leader of the Gerix, Only a Superior like You can truly lead a Clan as is our Law... but Corvus is just a Blooded like the rest of us, old and powerful yes, but not Superior." only Superiors lead the Clans? that makes sense, "If Superior's lead the clans then How does He get away from it, You can smell that He not like me, surely You would know?" She nodded "Of course we Know, but... You don't understand, He has gifts, amazing powers of mesmerisation. After Urantus, the original Head of our clan's ****, Corvus **** all of us in line, made us follow him or he'd... do horrible things." There was a genuine pain in her voice, but she hadn't finished yet, the bad part was still coming.
"But he's a coward, without his Mind-Control he's weak, that's why He surrounded himself with people Like Hawkins to protect himself, but not even My lover could protect him from Valerica..." You didn't like where this was going "...When she..." Another Pause "And Your father approached us, Corvus was Terrified."
The Beast was coming, pulling on the bars of its cage, You listened as She continued "They were looking for information on Old ruins, Roman artifacts, notes from some crazy German doctor, and wanted to search our library. Of course, He let them, one wrong move and She'd rip us apart, Her reputation says as much." Valerica, a monster like that, considering the things she'd done to You in such a short time, imagine what horrors she could accomplish in several Lifetimes "Your father was at the Hotel for a while, He... earned my respect." The Beast was succeeding in his take, his claws wrapped around the bars, bending them apart and attempting to squeeze his monstrous body through the bars "Just get to the point." You insisted, muscles constricting, Body tensing up with fury "I..." Her fear was growing, she backed up a little more "I.. am not sure what Roman did to make Her angry... but she was furious, furious enough to want him dead. Corvus knew where Your Home was, and He knew about Your attendance of East-Wallace..."
He was inching out, nearly free from his cage "It was an easy choice for him, He gave You and Your father up in a heartbeat..." Your eyes were fixed on Her, his claws scraping on You flesh to be given control, "...and what happened after that?" You asked, Your tone deep; almost bloodthirsty, She was hesitant "What happened after He sold us out, Speak." She flinched, but continued reluctantly "...She was gone for a while, it was like She vanished, We all thought that it was all over but... then the Inquisitor showed up..." She pointed to Rose "She conscripted Corvus against his will into safeguarding your family, but by the time we Got to Your home-" You cut her off with a gesture.
"Why..." You asked, You were falling, plunging into a Fiery cyclone of wrath that you weren't sure would ever fade away, "Why does He want me to join him, He knew that I'd find out about this eventually?" She froze like a deer in headlights, just frozen "O-Once sworn to a Clan Leader... You can never harm them, no matter how powerful You are." So that was his plan? Trap You into his service, He'd do well to have a superior on his side..... "Why tell me this now, isn't he, Your master?" Cleo spat at the comment "for hundreds of Years, Lord Urantus, trained me in mental fortitude, I have been waiting for an opportunity to kill him... now, we can both get our ****." All this time, ever since the beginning, all of it was lies, every word out of his mouth... lies...
KILL? IS IT TIME TO KILL?!
"Yes, yes it is..."
TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR!?
The Breaking, the moment You turned, was the only other time that You had felt this monstrous, so little of Charlie Drake was in control right now, it was a miracle that You could even speak as You did "You keep Her safe... Until I come to get her, Keep Her Safe." and with that You bolted, sprinting with a fury, towards the Mortemus Hotel, where Corvus hid, behind those Ancient Doors.
