Got the time?

Emerging out from the reception and into the coolness of the fresh night air was a stranger feeling than any for You now, not unpleasant, but certainly strange. The Best way to describe it was perhaps... being plugged into the world, interfacing with the surrounding darkness, having a direct line into the twilight, You could feel the stars above, hear the breaths of the nocturnal birds on the air, it was as if the shadows were speaking to you, passing off all the information You needed and all of course under the loving lamplight of the crescent moon; a glorious midnight sun.

Your marveling at this alien sensation was interrupted by Rose who cleared her throat loudly, redirecting Your attention, "This, feeling..." You inquired, Rose staring with a silent curiosity "...Am I going to feel this every time I am outside?" You could barely contain Yourself, it was what You imagined dogs felt like after being let outside, You just wanted to run away, roaming the Nocturnal kingdoms without a care in the world. At Your face, painted with wonder, Rose might have almost smiled a little "Yes."

"No Human could ever understand this could they, not even the most beautiful sunlit day is any comparison to this." She gave paused to Your words like it was the most important thing that she had ever heard "Really?" she asked, her tone strangely... gentle, "Um yeah, like this is seriously some next-level stuff." You responded a little dumbfounded "Do You not remember what the Sun is like?" the question crushed any curiosity in her as she resumed her cold look "It's 30 miles to the city, don't fall behind."

And with that she damn near vanished into the woods, leaving You to follow with a gleeful smile as You bolted after her.

Supernatural curse or no, moving the way You were, it was all so remarkable. Traveling at this level of speed through what was essentially a natural obstacle course was a little disorienting, you tripped a few times, grazing yourself and nearly flying face-first into a couple of hard looking trees, but after what felt like maybe a moment or two, You had mastered it, ducking, diving, jumping, ebbing and flowing through the dark city of green like you had been doing so Your entire Un-Life, chasing instantly after the Scarlet blur in front of You, who seemed to marvel slightly in the odd-looking back at you that she did.

As fun as feeling like a living bullet was, all good things must come to an end and as the wooded area began to thin into a grassy open, the smallest sounds of life began to drip into your hearing. Rose very suddenly stopped at the top of a grassy hill, leaving You just enough room to stop beside her.

Rose looked out to the city, "I don't get how those guys back at the Hotel stay cooped up like that, I could run all night!" You exclaimed joyfully, Rose simply continued to stare out at the city lights "Don't get too excited, we aren't in the city yet."

Now that she mentioned it... as your eyes were drawn to the city, "Holy shit." You said as the sensation hit like a truck, making You touch your forehead and wince as the Beast stirred inside of You, that entire area was pulsing with life, a cauldron of red hot blood, it was like walking up to an hall you can eat buffet "Can You continue?" Rose inquired, watching You stifled a growl "I-I think so?" the answer did seem to sit well with her "You think so, do you also think that you won't try and eat the next person that asks for the time?" the intensity of her tone was enough to allow you to gauge that this was a lot more important than perhaps you had expected "If Human's find out about Vampires then no matter how fast or strong we are, we will eventually be hunted and killed; predators made pray. I need you to know that You can continue, understand?" deep in your chest, You found the beast, squirming and whining to be fed... and you held it down, grasping at its throat so that it could cry no longer, with eyes Ruby red you fixed your face with determination "Let's go." You said calmly, Rose nodded as she led you on cautiously through to the city outskirts.

After a little bit of covert movement, You and Rose emerged fully into the city, following swiftly as She moved into the streets where you had your first contact with real, breathing life.

People went by their normal evenings, talking away on cellphones, filtering in and out of stores, generally minding their own business, as Monsters walked beside them, one relatively calm and You with teeth clenched and fists balled as the hunger inside shrieked to be fed. It wasn't a particularly busy street, but even so, just walking around was difficult at the moment, how the hell where you supposed to be apart of society, fit back into society when all you could smell was blood and all you could see was bags of flesh, ripe for the picking, how the hell was you-

"Umm excuse me?" Said the young lady in front of you... Jesus Christ, she smelt delicious... like freshly baked donuts, "Y-Yes?" You asked, trying to keep back from her as best you could, "I was wondering if you had the time?" ArE YoU FuCkInG KiDdInG mE!

Rose seemed as if she might snigger but held it back as You pressed your lips together "No. Sorry." is all you mustered before bursting past her with a very amused Rose in tow "I... I didn't realize that someone would actually-" Rose started "Just don't." You said cutting her off as the two of you moved on.
