Roger needs to dump Becky.

"This contest is a sort of scavenger hunt, but instead of objects, we're supposed to perform actions that my uncle would have deemed fit for his heir," Roger explained to his wife as he scanned the instruction paper in front of him. "

"What sort of actions?" Becky asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, his first instructions is to cut off all connection with my previous life..." Roger said in a hushed tone, as if speaking it out loud would get his wife even more angry.

"WHAT?!" Becky sputtered, immediately recognizing that she was a major part of his 'previous' life.

"Do you want to he money?" Roger tried to reason.

"WHAT?!" Becky repeated, implying, in couple speak, that Roger was digging the hole deeper by even considering going through with this.

"You said you'd do anything..." Roger almost pleaded.

"WHAT!?!" Becky responded, still completely dumbfounded by the entire concept.

"Listen, hon, I think I know a way we can work it out so that you I can cut off connections with my previous life and still include you in my new one!"

"Are you seriously still considering this?!" Becky said, at last expanding her vocabulary.

"These instructions are our sure fire way of getting this inheritance! It may be a rough ride, but in the end we'll come out on top if we follow it!" Roger said with conviction. "If you trust me, we go through with it, if not, then... well, I guess, we just go home... I mean, that's why I called to get your opinion..."

Becky took a breath and collected her thoughts. As she thought things through, it did appear noble that Roger had called in the first place to ask permission to do this. He could have just dumped her as instructed and not even bothered calling. Also, going home would be her telling him that she didn't trust him. That wasn't a good start to a new marriage. On the other hand, he would need her 'OK' to get an annulment of their marriage if he were to truly cut ties and then she would have no claim to the Carmine fortune whatsoever. She wondered if there was an alternative solution.
