Becky trusts Roger.

"Alright, I believe in you, babe, I'll do whatever it takes to win this!" Becky told her soon to be ex while trying to affirm to herself that she was making the right decision.

"OK," Roger replied.

Moments later, the door to the will reading room opened and Becky was met by the butler.

"This way, madam," he guided formally, leading her out the room.

They walked a brisk pace over to a small meeting room where they were joined by Roger shortly after. Another man entered in quick succession, carrying recently drawn up annulment papers. They were presented to Becky, who signed, then to Roger, who signed as well. The butler signed as witness, then the lawyer gathered up the papers, bid everyone adieu and took his leave. Becky and Roger were now single again.

Before either of them had time to take in the new change, Roger was whisked out of the room again, leaving Becky alone with the butler.

"Condolences, Miss Howle," he told her, addressing her by her newly reclaimed maiden name, "You are welcome to stay the evening in a guest room or take your leave as you please," the butler told her. "If you choose to stay, we will happily cater to your every needs."

"I think I will stay..." Becky said. She still trusted that Roger was working on a way to keep her included, so felt it best to stick around.

The room she was taken to was a fancy space with Victorian furnishings. it felt like she was staying at the presidential suite of a hotel! She was slightly surprised to see all her luggage already sitting by the bed, including Roger's things. Of course, he had supposedly given up all his previous possessions, so that would include underwear along with the wife... Becky sighed to herself, having a lingering doubt about whether things were going to end up well for her. At least she would enjoy a luxurious night

To make things feel even more like a hotel night stay, she found a room service menu by the nightstand with an old fashioned telephone to call the order in. She glanced through the items and they all looked decadent and mouth watering. She also noted that there was no price. As she paged further, she found that the estate offered other amenities including a spa, indoor pool, golf course, game room and more! This was like an all expense paid vacation. She may not be getting a honeymoon, but she might as well enjoy this instead.
