Nothing exciting until you receive two new data items

When viewers watch Island Amour at home, they are only exposed to a condensed version of what goes on. What they don’t show is obviously the boredom, menial routines of production, such as setting up confessional booths and time where we explain our thoughts (or more precisely our thoughts as rewritten or "suggested" by a team of college graduate writing interns), and non-dramatic things that go on day-to-day. The following days, you spent mostly strengthening relationships through banal conversations with your fellow Islanders and also spent it working out in the gym.

Each day that passes your facial features appear more rigid and sharp, the lines across your chest and abs more pronounced, your pecs sticking out more. You still weren’t as chiseled as the other men on the island, but you were beginning to see some marble underneath all that clay.

You haven’t broken the friendzone status with Jenna yet though you can sense that the physical part of the requirements of breaking the friendzone in the AMA was gone. That just left the special event requirement left to break through it. At night, the helper items never emerged again helping you cuddle with Jenna, however, you did wake up one day with her head on your shoulder.

The AMA during that time was silent as well, your affection growing with your fellow islanders at diminishing returns without new challenges or new events.

You theorized about what the AMA was. Was there a team of relationship experts behind-the-scenes monitoring you and helping you? Were the producers just making it all up, and the real AMA was the confidence you were gaining? Unlikely. What about the fitness progress you made in the past few days? Were they somehow dumping steroids into your food and water? That would lead to a lawsuit. And the kissing perk? There had to be something magical about it, almost otherworldly.

What you can say about the AMA was that it made you feel as though you were in some sort of RPG or visual novel. You were after all trapped in a remote place far from home with really strange people that you would have never hung out with in the “real world”. You didn’t care how it worked, but it was working, and it was helping you, and you trusted it.

One day, while you were lounging and passing the dreary day-to-day on the Island while you waited for things to happen, two notifications finally popped up in your AMA.
