Sneak into his mom's room

As that last thought exited his head, an idea came to Ash. Delia had all sorts of clothes and makeup. But she only seemed to wear only one outfit on a daily basis. He doubted she would notice one or two outfits disappearing on her. Maybe even a little makeup as well.

"It's worth a shot." he thought, getting up from his bed and made quick time out of his room. Then it was just a matter of taking a left and slowly peeking his head into his mother's room. "Good. She's not here."

Cost clear, Ash stepped inside and closed the door behind them. That way, Delia wouldn't really suspect that someone was in her room at the moment.

After, his attention turned to both the closet and the vanity. Both could be the gateway to his goal. But which one exactly would work best here?
