Controlled Pairs.

Your finger comes back smoothly as your breath pauses. The familiar sound of a discharging round is immediately followed by a second as you bring your finger back again. You find yourself concentrating on remembering to pull your finger back out of the well before engaging any other targets.

The man you were aiming at crumples. No sound. Nothing else. A brief scream of surprise momentarily interrupts the woman on the floor's sobbing, but other than that there's no motion. You note he's still breathing and lower your pistol to aim at him again. For a moment you hesitate, but the renewed sound of crying silences it instantly. Your finger again finds the trigger, and you bring your finger back again. Twice.

You feel sick in the pit of your stomach, but know the situation was not going to end well for one of you, no matter what had happened. Better to have made the call and still be alive. You look up from the now silent corpse to take stock of the two women still present in the room.

The woman on the floor has curled her legs up and is hugging herself softly. Sobs still echo from her lips and she doesn't seem to have even acknowledged your presence. The only sign that she's shown now in awareness was her reaction to the gunfire. Shit. Gunfire. The guy specifically mentioned other guys who would sell them.

"Ok, Smith, have you even fucking checked the other potential Romeo? " The voice of your former First Sergeant runs through your head. Gotta finish securing the two first.

You look at the woman on the table who is now in a sitting position. She looks like she was going for some sort of bargain basement ninja look, at least as far as you can tell with the baklava and tight fitting clothing. Which is still half off, you note. She hasn't made any movement, and just seems to be eyeing you warily. As far as you can tell, she doesn't seem to be making any aggressive motions.
