Does he get out and attack?

No, that would be crazy... for now

Chapter 15 by robyna

Rick had never been particularly good at resisting temptation. Which probably was why he was now an unemployed former middle management marketing grunt. But he'd never been particularly stupid. A homeless guy attacking a pretty employed female would make the cops' day... he'd be lucky if he made it out of city jail alive.

"You know," he said, "I'm going to remember how quickly your management company rolled up the rugs on me, kept my security deposit, kept all of my property."

"Big threats," Babs said. "Mr. Homeless is going to destroy a billion dollar management company. I can hardly wait to see that. Oops, my bad. I'm going to have to wait, aren't I. Forever."

Well, his threat hadn't exactly filled her with fear.

He forced a smile. "Well, Babs. I'll see you around. You live in apartment 397, right?"

This shot hit closer to home. His newly improved vision caught the narrowing of her eyes and the hint of deodorant failure as fear washed away her early titillation.

He should have felt guilty. Men should not threaten women, should not hint that they're stalking them, certainly should not assault them. And Babs acting like a bitch didn't justify him doing any of those things. Yeah, he told himself. Got to work on that feeling guilty.
