Queen and King

Angelo quickly made his way over to the Queen boar, once he was in range, he toggled on Sneak and made his way behind the beast using the shadows of the trees. -10 Mp He saw a stealth indicator appear once activated, indicating he had a 70% reduction to be detected. Wait, does that mean Erin was never fooled by Sneak before? No, he was likely too nervous within that moment to have noticed. He looked over the ability real quickly, sighing softly seeing the cause, the white blade of his Scimitar was likely to be the culprit here, 5% for one item wasn't horrible, but it was bad enough. His movements were reduced while sneaking, he was certain if he made any noise the Queen would look his way, reducing his detection chances more, this complicated things making his trek take a minute to get behind the beast. Luckily due to his high regeneration rate of mana he was only missing 8 Mp. A new exclamation flashed that he let pop up.

Wow, this was one killer ability. Even if it was expensive, its passive trait was sweet too. Sadly, he could only use it twice with his current amount of mana. He shook his head a bit, he had a Queen to kill. He noticed from this angle he could clearly see the young lady within the cage. Curiosity got the better of him, using observe on her.

Huh, he could see she was wearing a brown leather outfit, likely made from animal hides from around here. The leather was the same color as the small and medium boar's hide. He looked to the Queen, the odd thing was the Queen's hide was dark brown with bits of moss here and there, her tusks were small for her size and slightly worn. He looked around the very small clearing where that cage and Queen boar were, hmm, though there wasn't much room for the Queen boar to run around, it didn't give him much room to dodge either, if he made even a slight mistake he would be hit hard by the weight of the Queen. He wasn't sure what his own weight was anymore, but he was pretty sure this Boar outweighed him. He used the shadows of the trees to creep up behind the Queen, slowly and carefully. He still had his indicator from before, but unlike before he no longer had penalties from equipment. He felt like the shadows themselves were masking him, but he couldn't see any difference, perhaps the passive was quite powerful. Once behind the Queen, he swung with his sword, it felt oddly natural with how well balanced it was, a new exclamation flashed as he dealt a Sneak Attack and a Critical hit for quadruple damage, triggering both the 2 second stun, and 40 bleed damage effect since the target had been caught unaware. 158 damage Sneak Attack, Critical hit, 42 bleed damage increased by Final Strike. Perfectly killing off the Queen before she could react, she only had a moment to weakly squeal before collapsing. With this anticlimactic win he let that exclamation pop up. +250 xp It looked like the Queen dropped a book and $100.

An ominous and loud squeal was heard in the distance as several trees were knocked over. Cindy cried out, "Oh god, no, not him, not the King Boar!" He used this moment to quickly put the book and money away while more trees were knocked over, an even larger boar came into view, it had red rage filled eyes, its hide was dark as night, its back was covered in grey stone and green moss, and whoa, those tusks were about half Angelo's height! He quickly used observe before dashing behind some trees for cover, the King boar charging right where he had been, hitting one of the tree's dead on, snapping that tree in half.

Oh shit, this thing really was a beast, but this was a good opportunity to use his new spell. He cast Ignite on the King, engulfing its form in fire, the first second ticked for 10 damage. -25 Mp The King turned around in a panic to find him, charging a tree nearby, knocking it over, but this one caught on fire as another tick took its toll on the beast for 10 damage. Shit, he thought, he would need to end this fight fast or this forest would go down in flames. He cast Alluring Spores and charged the beast. -75 Mp He ran by cutting the left front and back legs for 43 damage each, that second strike triggering the bleed effect. (86 damage) The beast turned towards him and charged knocking him back against a tree, the beast squealed in pain. -100 Hp He gained one stack of Bio Adaptation. Fuck, that hurt, he could only take one more before almost anything else would take him out. He saw two ticks of damage this time, 10 and 9 bleed damage. (19 damage) Wait, what happened to his spores? Shit, they must have burned up in the fire, this was just great. His eyes watched the beast as it started to charge at him again. He tumbled to the side and struck the beast's side for 39 damage, barely escaping the beast's attack, but he was struck hard from behind with both of the beast's legs, sending him flying on top of the cage. -90 Hp He gained another stack of Bio Adaptation. Ah damn, that hurt. Another tick went off for 10 and 9 bleed damage. (19 damage) He let out a breath, that beast had 117 life left, and he only had 29. He didn't want to use that Gaia snack he had, so he jumped behind the cage, casting Faith's Renewal on himself before casting Alluring Spores. -105 Mp His health increased by 14 as another 10 and 9 bleed damage hit the beast. (19 damage) Those flames from Ignite finally vanished as the last tick had gone off. A new exclamation flashed as telling him Alluring Spores had leveled up, lowering its cost by 25 Mp. The beast watched him a moment before charging at him once again, shit, he couldn't just let it hit the cage and possibly injure Cindy. He did the only thing he could think of, he ran around the cage to make the beast follow him, those spores floating back to smack that beast, for 21 damage, 6 times. (126 damage) (9 Overkill) +500 xp He fell to the ground, tired and exhausted from all of this, his health continued to regenerate another 14, 4 times. (+56 Healing) His stacks of Bio Adaptation ran out. He turned over slowly and was greeted by Cindy who was crying above him. She had fiery red curly hair and light green eyes, she was quite pretty up close, even while crying. "Thank you so much, you are my hero." He could see her leaning down, picking him up a bit and hugged him tightly. "I don't know what I can ever do to repay you." Her score ticked up to 100. He smiled softly. "It was my pleasure to help." He didn't want to tell her, his quest made him do it. He cast Faith's Renewal on her, her health returned to full after 5 seconds. Her eyes widened as she sniffled before crying more. "Oh god, you are so generous too!" She squeezed him tightly, hurting him a little. -1 Hp "I am glad you are happy, but loosen your grip a little, please." She sniffed softly before doing so, her score ticked up to 120. "I have nothing to offer you now, but you have my eternal gratitude for saving me." She said softly and slowly let him back down. She wiped her eyes gently. "I am sorry, I am not usually such a mess." He let out a breath as his right hand lifted up to help brush away her tears. "I understand, that must have been quite the ordeal." She nodded slightly. "I am Cindy Rider. May I please know my hero's name?" He closed his eyes a moment. "I am Angelo Gallo, it is a pleasure to meet you Miss Rider." She shook her head. "No, please, call me Cindy, Master Gallo." He shook his head a little. "Just call me Angelo, Cindy." She blushed deeply. "I..um.." Her score ticked up to 145. "As you wish, Angelo. What are you doing out here anyways? I have never seen you before." He sat up slowly. "I was just out hunting the boars here when I ran into that big boar and saw you held in that cage. I couldn't just leave you there." She smiled softly. "I, I need to get back home. My father must be terribly worried. Won't you come with me? My father would likely wish to reward you for your troubles." He stood up slowly and shook his head. "I need to finish up here before heading back myself. Do you think you will make it back okay?" She nodded. "That is a shame, but I understand. I will be fine on my own. I wish you the best of luck. May we meet again under better circumstances." She bowed to him before quickly running off.

Angelo sighed softly once she had left. "I doubt I will ever see her again." He saw a decent curve to her hips that reminded him of his sister's. She may not have a large rack, but those hips were a thing of beauty. He shook his head slightly. Get your head out of the gutter! He mentally scolded himself before looking around. He saw another book where the King Boar had been slain and $350. When he touched the book a notification popped up.

Wait, was he reading this right? This would allow him to transform into a Dire Boar!? No way, this was too good to pass up as he hit accept. He felt a rush through his body as he suddenly understood what the life as a boar was like, from infancy to adulthood. He shook his head slightly once he came back to his senses, he picked up the $350 before heading off to kill those small boars. They were easy to kill but, only granted 5 xp each, earning him 75 xp total. When he finished the quest turned itself in.

Once he was finally done cleaning up, he had collected another $5.25, it wasn't much, but every bit added up. He had spent roughly an hour in here which was only 12 minutes on the outside. That last bit only took 20 minutes to clear those small boars, mostly getting to them. He lifted his hand to exit.
