The rest of the day goes pretty much like normal
After Dinner
After dinner everyone sort of goes their separate ways. There is a general feeling of folks wanting some actual alone time, by themselves, despite how close your family has gotten. People can’t spend too much time together. You think you can use a break too, at least for a couple of hours tonight, to reset yourself and contemplate your wonderful life since you and your sister turned 18.
Before heading up to your room you decide to grab a glass of milk. When you make it to the kitchen you see your mother by the door in a coat and pulling some boots on.
“Mom? Where are you goin?” you ask her, stopping at the fridge.
“Oh I’m going to do a quick check on the milking equipment,” she says, stamping her foot into a boot. She motions to the worn metal tool box by the door. “I’ve been putting off the maintenance lately… and I don’t want anything to break down tomorrow during the day."
