She heads home

Rather than tempt fate, Giuliana decides to go back home. As she sneaks through the back door, she's reminded of the nights in her youth when she used to sneak out of her house to meet with Giuseppe. Now she's evading him hoping that he isn't wise to what she's trying to do. Although she wants to believe Giuseppe is sleeping happily, she couldn't help but think about his bouts of paranoia that came from fear of reprisals.

She slowly opens the door to her bedroom, hoping the creak doesn't wake her husband. To her relief she sees her husband in a deep slumber, allowing her to swiftly remove her dress and throw it into her wardrobe. Next, she slips into bed and attempts to sleep, but her thoughts leave her restless. It's only been two days, and she's already struggling to keep things together.

When she wakes up, Giuliana notices her husband is already gone. With a groan, she turns to her clock, which reads 1:38 PM. In a panic, she rushes to get dressed, knowing she's already late for her meeting with Karl. As she eats her late breakfast, she begins to fear how Karl will react to her lateness. After a deep breath, she grabs her phone and sends a text to Karl.

'sorry I woke up late today? how can I make it up to you?'
