Unconsciously in costume

The thought of leaving the building dressed like this distracted John so much he didn't noticed he actually did it. Ms. Emerson, the receptionist, didn't say a word about him still wearing the costume. She just looked after the dressed-up boy leaving the office. John left the building and began to walk down the streets to get back home. He was so mentally absent, that he didn't noticed the wind on his bare legs and shoulders, the waving of the skirt and wig and the dangling of the earrings. Surprisingly he didn't even noticed his stumbling because of the high heels.

John was already half way home as he somehow realized he was still wearing the costume. "Oh my god, what the hell?" He hoped for a moment it was just a dream or his imagination and touched with his gloved hands the leotard, skirt, wig and earrings. But they proved to be real. John heavily blushed realizing he was walking in public dressed in a girls costume. He looked around and saw people looking at him. John felt even more embarrassed and began to run. He ran as fast as he could with the high heels, stumbling with almost every step. People gazed after the costumed girl stumbling past them.

Finally John reached his home. He was lucky nobody else was home yet. He quickly went to his room, locked the door behind him and fell exhausted on his bed. Never in his life he had run so far and his feet were hurting from all the stumbling. But that was nothing compared to the humiliation he felt from walking around in public dressed up like a girl.
