Chapter 79

What does he choose?
He chooses Zoey.
Fuck it. If there's one thing Tyler ever believed in, it was love. He knew what he was doing was wrong -- he let there be an overlap in his relationships -- but he knew that deep down he was madly in love with Zoey.
He didn't feel the need to cheat on Zoey. He didn't feel empty when they had sex. He wasn't frustrated with her.
He grabbed her shoulders and wrapped her up in a hug. She reciprocated. He stayed like that for a long time.
"Why don't you bring an overnight bag?" He offered.
They pulled away and she was smiling. "Are you offering for me to stay the night?"
"I'm offering for you to stay as long as you want to."
She smiled even wider. "What about Kaitlyn?"
He raised an inquisitive eyebrow, butterflies in his chest. "What about her?"
In order to keep their relationship before they officially got together a secret, they broke up at different times -- about three weeks between another.
Tyler was first. He told Kaitlyn that he loved her, but at the same time, he didn't. He told her that it wasn't her, but him that was the problem, that she deserved someone a million times better. She did. She argued that she only loved him, but he told her it was over and that he couldn't be with her anymore. He broke her heart.
She was heartbroken for a month. After a few sit-down sessions with Tyler and she figured out what was wrong and what they did wrong, she felt better. She actually felt a million times better. She opened up more. She revealed her past to Tyler and Tyler offered to help her with her broken past -- which they did. She sought counseling and made huge strides in her self discovery. After it was all said and done, she had taken what he said on the chin and grew from their relationship -- they even managed to stay friends. Neither mentioned getting back together, and both agreed that they should always only be a mutually friendly relationship.
Tom, on the other hand, rebounded a lot quicker. Of course, he very much loved Zoey. But he also understood that people grow different and things change over time and understood that she wasn't in love with him, so HE offered to split up. If there was one thing Zoey thought about Tom, it was that he was the most understanding man she had ever known. Although they didn't remain friends, they kept in contact a few times -- he had moved far away and found another girlfriend and an even better job.
Once Zoey and Tyler were officially dating, it didn't take long for their relationship to explode.
Tyler got better grades in college and Zoey offered to help him study for all of his exams. She herself had made good progress in her own pursuits and would eventually make good money off of being a counselor for bullied teenagers, and having a job in therapy to boot. They moved in with one another only two months after being together and stayed madly in love.
Tyler got a job at a white-collar job right out of college and very quickly moved up the ranks thanks to Zoey's father's influences and his alumni status.
Two years into their relationship, Tyler asked Zoey to marry him.
She cried and said yes. He kissed her on the nose.
Kaitlyn attended the wedding. She said she always knew something was between them -- and eventually they came clean. She said she understood what it meant to cheat and found it deserving that it happened to her, but since it was in the past it should stay that way.
Seven years in and they were still happily, blissfully married.
"Don't you ever get tired of me?" She asked, sighing. She put her glasses back on and pulled her shorts back up.
He gave her butt a playful smack as he fixed his hair, the taste of her still on his lips. "Do you even need to ask that question?"
"Not gonna pull a you on me, are you?"
"Zoe, if I were to cheat on you, I'm pretty sure we'd open that up and fuck whatever girl it was together."
She smiled. "Fair. But we can't keep on taking up all of your lunch -- I mean it's only an hour and--"
He bit her ear. "My lunch is only an hour, yes. Good thing it didn't take me long to have a bite to eat-- I still need dessert."
She glowed red. "Already?"
He bent her over the table. "Do you even need to ask that question? Take those fucking shorts back off." He unbuckled his belt.
She rolled her eyes.
She smiled, but rolled her eyes.
The End.
The end!
