Of course not!

A few weeks pass by after the incident with Daisy Ridley.

For the most part, everything goes by smoothly. You continue focusing on your business, doing the same old shit you usually do. Booking acts, going through the accounting, staying on top of inventory, etc. It's pretty boring to most people but you love it. In fact, it relaxes you.

You sit inside your large office. There isn't much in the way of decor though you do have a signed Jimmy Page guitar hanging behind your desk. Just as you are about to call the manager of the band Halestorm, your phone begins ringing. You look at the display and all it reads is PRIVATE NUMBER.

You don't usually answer private numbers so you let it ring until it stops.

A few minutes later, your phone rings again and again, the display says PRIVATE NUMBER. You continue to ignore it.

A few minutes later, the same PRIVATE NUMBER pops up causing your phone to ring once more. Well, if it's that important...

"Hello?" You answer.

"Hi, is this William Carpenter?" A female British voice asks after a few seconds of silence.

"Yes it is. Who may I ask is calling?" You ask, your voice going professional out of pure habit and instinct. Ingrid often made fun of you for it. Now that you thought about it, there wasn't much she didn't make fun of you for.

"This is Daisy Ridley." She answers.

You sit there stunned for a few moments. Your mind races. There is no way this is actually Daisy Ridley. This has to be someone fucking with you.

"Hello? Are you still there?" She asks breaking your thoughts.

"Um, yes, uh." You stammer. "Sorry, did you say this is Daisy Ridley?"

"Yes I did." She answers.

"I'll be honest Miss Ridley, I just...I didn't think I'd ever hear from you after what happened. How are you, by the way?"

"I'm alright." She answers. "The night is still pretty fuzzy but all in all, I'm well."

"That's great to hear." You say sincerely.

You both fall into a bit of an awkward silence.

"Anyway." She begins again. "I just wanted to....Look, this may seem kind of random but I really don't want to do this over the phone. I'd much rather do this in person. Do you happen to have plans for lunch today?"

Her request shocks you. You typically missed lunch because you usually got caught up in work.

"Uh no, I don't have plans." You finally answer.

"Great. Meet me at the following address and we'll grab lunch. See you then." She hangs up.

Still in shock, you sit there in silence with your phone still against your ear. The sound of a text message finally shakes you back to reality. The address and name of the place where Daisy wants to meet highlight the screen.

"Now what could that call have been about to make you so happy?" A smiling Ingrid interrupts your thoughts.

"Nothing." You lie knowing that if she found out it'd give her added ammunition in her endless onslaught of teasing. "Are you going to need me for the next couple of hours?"

"I don't think so." She answers, her blue eyes studying you suspiciously.

"Good. I'm going out for lunch." You announce.

"You?" She questions.

"Yes. Is that so weird?" You ask knowing full well the answer.

"It's a girl isn't it?" She asks bluntly ignoring your inquiry.

You smirk and pack your briefcase. She stops you at the door.

"Who is she?" She almost demands though her tone is playful.

"Call me if you need anything." You dodge her question before ducking under her arm, exiting your office.

"You know I'll find out eventually!" She calls out.

"I know you will." You turn and shout back before waving goodbye to her.
