Twist the ring backwards

Wondering if she could do the reverse of what she could do earlier. Jess took the ring and twisted it backwards. As she did she felt as if energy from seemingly nowhere around her was getting sucked into her, and the feeling as light got sucked out of her eyes was probably the most uncomfortable thing Jess had ever felt. That didn't compare to the sudden crack of darkness that enveloped her. Becoming weightless for only an instance, Jess felt like it was an eternity of nothing. Then as suddenly as it appeared, it was replaced by the green light of the ring pulsing out as she felt the energy expand from within her, seemingly fighting the darkness off, protecting her.

There she was, back in her room looking at her clock. It was now 12:05PM again. 'The ring worked', she thought. 'but at what cost'. Shuddering with the memory of the sheer level of darkness around her, she knew she wouldn't been keen on trying that again. Looking down at her ring, it wasn't in the mood for another round either as the light was almost completely faded out.

Jess decided to clean her bed another time, in order to not go through the awkward situation with her mom again.
